I have the harness already i went with a crutchfield harness. I just wanna know if that T-tap splice will work fine for the simple LOC and not affect the signal feeding to the Key Amp

Yep, all good there as long as you tap before the amp

Thanks for the fantastic writeup! Pretty easy job. Can't believe how much better just the stock speakers sound now that they're actually getting power. Especially the rears. Can't wait to do the CS door speakers later this weekend.

I installed some new Morel speakers in the dash location, and re-ran the AUTO Eq on the kicker - and of course Im getting horrible results where it sounds like I am underwater listening to the speakers.

Doing some research - it appears that the Tacome Entune has a pretty crazy boost to certain frequencies - especially above 40 volume level. Well - for the auto EQ to not bomb out, you need to have the volume cranked to run it. So it seems it is EQ'ing a curve that you wouldnt normally experience at typical listening levels - 10-25 on my radio. Just an FYI to everyone who has the Key 200 and not getting the results they expect. I will continue to run no EQ but it is disappointing to not be able to use a feature.

Here is a picture I found of the Tacoma entune boost at volume level 40. For my kicker EQ to not fail, I had to have the volume at 45.

I got mine to work pretty well using the pink noise wav file that kicker provides on their website. Had the volume set to 45 out of 60 on the taco headunit. All EQ's on the head unit set to flat and the gains to 0 on the kicker. Ran perfectly. Then I used the kicker sine wave file to set the gains. Very happy with how it sounds now with the kicker CS door speakers front and rear.

Very strange then, I have run the EQ process 3 times now, and it always ends up sounding like a clock radio with a blanket over it!

With no EQ on, the Morel in the dash and doors sound great.

I did a key a couple years ago and all 6 speakers. Reading through this thread brings back some memories. It was a good project and still works fine. I still want to add a powered sub.

I finally just ordered the Kicker Key 200.4, redwolf wiring harness, and amp wiring kit recommended by @destin_meeks. It should all be here in the next few days thanks to Amazon. I enjoyed reading all 13 pages of this thread today... so hopefully I won't have any further questions! (But I had to post on here so I could find it again if I get myself into a pinch!)

I'm less nervous about the physical wiring up and more nervous about the button pressing and gain adjusting to get it all set right... fingers and toes will be crossed, and I'll read through this a few more times.
