Camping gear followed by that comment - amongst the best known

I still remember the cryptic message I received one Thursday at work "where is my backpacking sleeping bag?". Seemed quite abrupt, but when they are a senior in high school and you get regular comms, and not in trouble, maintaining relationship is amongst the highest priority. I answered, and added in a "have plans?" reply. Yep, she and her best friend (Monica) were going camping near the lava tubes in Flag. I started to add in some advice about the down sleeping bag and probably not the best for hammock sleeping, but then stopped and said "have a great time - text if you need anything". Yes, they both froze due to their hammocks not providing any insulation on the bottom, but they had a great time, Macy's coffee in the morning and now she always has an under quilt.

Super proud dad moment - those two had been friends since elementary school - and now kids and marriage and adult life lessen that contact - but they still laugh together.

 

Have a Softopper and rack to sell. I have been converted to the GFC clan. Will sell separately. I purchased the Softopper Dec 2021, have covered parking at work and garaged at home, so only in the sun on trips and commutes.

Served me well, Moon Shade off the rack, sleeping in the back. Short bed Tacoma.






The garage pics have some Moab dust on them, have rinsed it off since then.

I have (3) items I want to give away for free.

Currently Claimed, pending pickup - The first is a transfer hose. It has a brass fitting and marble at one end (shake it) to transfer fuel.

SOLD The second is an extra rail from my Sherpa Animas Roof Rack. It is a 1" x 2" aluminum extrusion. It is 48" in length, has the (4) bolts and washers used to secure it at the ends, and accepts 1/4"x20 carriage bolts.

Currently Claimed, pending pickup - The third is a rear seat (back and bottom, bottom not shown, but is included) from a Silver Double Cab 3rd Gen Tacoma. It has only had (4) different butts on it before I removed it. I will never reinstall this in my truck, and I do not want to throw it away.

I need these items picked up in the month of January, or else I will have to trash them.

Free to a good home! 4 blue soda stream canisters ... empty and ready for recycling. Through the years and due to Target having monkeyed policies in 2020 I have 4 old but my current machine uses the new pink ones. Allows more 1/2 price swapouts.

Vibe queen mattress, has a mattress cover on it but has a couple stains underneath from when my sister stayed with us for a few months with her new born. That was the only time it was used.

62x19x32 grey tv stand/cabinet.

Still looks good and is solid, but some of the hardware is loose from moving a couple time. Has child proof straps that I’m not going to even try to pull off. Not bad as is, but if you spend some time to tighten up the hardware and clean it, it would be great again.
