    Used it twice already - and I totally loved it. I also bought some noname drain plug with hose and oil change was super smooth and not messy at all

    If you’re discouraged by the price, please trust us and just do it, those Toyota techs tighten the shit outta them and the tool makes taking it off so much easier. I thought I was gonna break my plastic filter housing the first time I did my own oil change cause it was on so tight.

    Buy once, cry once ... then the Motivx just works. If you are worried about the plastic filter housing, just buy a metal housing.

    i'm convinced that it's thermal cycling and o-ring seating that further 'tightens' it, not techs. is blaming other people really necessary here?

    i know the 2nd oil change i did myself, it was just as difficult to get off as it was the first time, and i installed it myself with very little effort, with fresh o-rings and new oil on the rings to ease installation/removal as much as possible.

    This...happened on the composite plastic housing of my truck...although, it wasn't as tight the second time (I hand tightened).

    Since installing the aluminum, it's also a little tight but not to the extent as the composite plastic.

    I got the 1st MotivX design and bought the current improved version. So I paid and cried 2x. There are still many cheap copies of the original version out there that also grips the tabs on the filter cap. That version will work fine if you never get in to a situation where the cap is over torqued, then you risk braking the tabs if you slip trying to apply force. The new version grips the flutes on the cap only. I can confirm that with a 2foot breaker bar an over tightened cap can be removed with out damage using the new version. It does stick to the composite cap being how tight its machined to fit but you can let it cool a bit and pry it off with your hand, I can at least. I changed to the Aluminum one last oil change so I'll see now it goes next time. I really recommend the motivX tool

    It would be better if it were flexible so you could bent it to be more upright. As it is I need to use a second funnel within the screw in.

    Still cheaper than MotivX. It goes on sale, periodically. Added to your camelcamelcamel and watch for the price to drop.

    Same design as my non-Motivx drain hose. Works fine on Tacoma and Rav4.
