Lol! That’s too funny. Yeah the last couple tanks I’ve averaged 22mpg. Not too bad! It normallt reads about 340 miles to empty when I fill up.

    That’s pretty great mileage!

I’m think of doing a 33x12 all terrain for my next tire because I think I would be able to retain a lot of the good gas mileage. Especially if I stick with these Yokohamas. They have been really really good, probably the best tires I’ve run so far.

that was before I got new wheels. I’ll see how it goes with new wheels with -12 offset. I am getting AT tires within a month or two, hopefully. I’ll post pics once the weather clears up.

I am going to get 2 sets of tires which one sets for road uses and other sets for off road uses.

I’m not sure what will I be getting until I am ready to get them. But I plan to get cheaper tires for road uses since AT tires are expensive these days.

I’m in the northeast. Been Running Cooper Discoverer 255/85/16s, pretty happy with them overall - a little noisy. My DTE reading in winter is usually around 280 mi on a full tank. . My last fill up it read 385 mi. Wondering if anybody else has seen that much variance and why that would be. No added weight, no towing, no change in driving. I did recently air up from around 28 PSI to 32 PSI. Can’t imagine that would make that much of a difference - if that is it - I’m sold on maintaining air pressure!!! I am thinking the DTE reading is far from accurate more of a data gimmick.

I think that the PSI does have a lot more to do with mileage than people realize, but I also think you’re right and the readout on the screen definitely isn’t 100% accurate. Especially with the 255’s, it will be a bit off.

But, I would guess that the change in PSI from 28 to 32 did lead to a decent improvement in MPGs.

Follow up: I still get the same data with the new wheels and OEM tire size. AT tires are next soon.

Nice build man! And thanks for sharing your thoughts on sound deadening with a Goose Gear delete. My Goose Gear arrived today and I was thinking of installing some Kilmat I had laying around, but after reading your saga I might just start out by reinstalling all of the OEM materials and going for a drive haha.

Hey, thanks! I’m glad that stuff was helpful.

Yeah, I would say that if you leave the OEM material back there AND do the sound deadening, it’s maybe 10% quieter than with just the OEM material. In my case, it wasn’t worth the time it took.

Althohgh maybe you would have better results with different types of sound deadening stuff, or if you do more layers. It’s definitely tolerable now and I have no complaints. I might have the doors done professionally soon and see how much that helps just because I do so much highway driving. I have heard doing the doors makes a big difference.

Two things.... first, the floor actually makes a much larger difference than the doors. But is a much larger project. Second, you can bring it down here and we can knock either one of those two areas out in a Saturday. Save you a whole lot of money and get your more comfortable with wrenching on your truck.

Truuuue, I have heard the floor is the biggest problem. I just am not willing to undertake that project lol, and honestly the noise isn’t thaaaat bad.

I appreciate it and I’ll let you know as soon as I have time! I haven’t done a thing to the truck in a few months other than drive it because I haven’t had any spare time.

You done anything interesting with yours recently?

Honestly haven't touched it in a while. Been helping a buddy build an fj Cruiser for the past couple months.

Also been trying to teach myself a new skill. Bought a tig welder and trying to learn that. So those two things have been filling my spare garage time.

However, I do have something special on order... if it is ever made/shipped. Seems every time I get an update from the manufacturer it is just to give information how they haven't finished because they don't have time and it's going to take longer... but I'm not getting on that soapbox in your thread.

I have been thinking about getting myself a welder but I have to get the garage cleaned out and arranged first. So I will have more room to work with, even with the welder.... Then I will ask friends from work to teach me welding.
