I have the Black Version A .. it was just a matter of time for me to find the Pace Car version. I've actually done a ride along around Daytona so it's even cooler for me!

 

Apparently this is a store exclusive color but I don't know if it's Kroger, Walgreens or Dollar General.

I'm willing to trade for a couple of these.

Had a bunch of time on my hands today and finished up the final project of which I have all the pieces on hand.

My 72 Chevelle has been with me since probably 1998-1999. Like all Maistos it has its flaws in terms of quality.

I used my lessons learned from the 1971 and just cut the wheels off rather than risking the busted stubs. Since I didn’t do the deep dish rear wheels, I didn’t go crazy with the rear ride height. However, this one fully rolls which is super exciting.

I ended up selling the Nova wheels and tires and the spare Chevelle tires and sole surviving wheel on eBay for $7.00. Can’t beat that!

 

I’ll take a look see when I’m down the road where they are. My travels put me in some sparse places.

 

Friend sent me this picture he saw on TikTok. Thought I should do this to one of the walls in my room with all the extra cars. Said I like it but if I ever sell I would ruin the wall chiseling them off like he is.

 

I have that exact casting and have had it just about as long! Very cool!

 

I wanted to salvage the wheels to try and repaint the centers to the correct GM argent but the wheels are somehow stuck to the stubs in ways other Maistos don't seem to be so I had to chop them off, which is a shame.

It seems like the 1972 version is out of production compared to the 1971 and the 1971s I've seen for sale new no longer feature the correct SS striping.

 

Put them on panels… that way they can travel in the future… leave cars as overlaps.
