Yeah I had thought about that, and that is defiantly a very legit reason for the upgrade...

Replaced my low beams with 6000k VLED bulbs. No night pics yet but should be MUCH better. This past week I was out-driving the stock halogens in bad weather. Was not a fun experience at all

Read post 1 of this: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3rd-gen-hid-vs-led-vs-halogen-h11-projector-headlights.589465/

LEDs in halogen-reflector housings can be illegal, depending on the jurisdiction. And they tend to scatter in front of the truck instead os focus. Others will say "no one has flashed my truck YET telling me I am blinding them!", but that is just trying to defend what you cannot prove. Buy OEM Pro LEDs. Used to be Puppypunter made SR/Sport/SR5 conversion harnesses for the OEM LEDs and daveeasa for TRD OR ... but I think I read that daveeasa closed his shop so may Puppypunter can do TRD OR harnesses.

Send me the money and I’ll gladly buy OEM LEDs. In my garage they still have a nice and clean cutoff because they’re orientated properly…

Going cheap and blinding drivers is not my style. You can skip some visits to Starbucks and wait for a sale. But let others speak because you apparently deny the science in the first post of that thread ... aiming, actual throw of the headlight beam, scatter of the light for oncoming drivers.

    Good luck with that ...

    Removed the 4x4TRDsport stickers.

I have a touch of ghosting but really not horrible for a 2019. May try a cutter and polisher to see if I can get the rest out. All good if it doesn’t it’s very faint.

Love how clean the truck looks without the badges and stickers. May eventually put some orange, red and yellow vintage TRD accents on. I think it would look good on quicksand but for now enjoying the naked look.

Been installing auto glass for 31+ years.

Pilkington is my first choice, but ever since Covid they’ve been struggling to keep glass in stock. So I’ve been ordering must if our glass from MyGrant. FYG,Fuyao & SCM,Sisecam your my second choices. I avoid XYG like the plague.

FYI not all FYG is Chinese glass. They do have a plant in the US. IMG_7768.jpg

I put an 3Gen FYG windshield in my personal vehicle.

My son worked for MyGrant for a awhile and also said Pilkington was a great brand, he also pointed out to me that my OEM windshield is made by Pilkington, very hard to see it but if you look really hard under the Toyota name you can see the much smaller Pilkington name under it, again it is hard to see if you didn't know it was there...

So, what have any of you guys heard about the “Stinger” 10’ screen, infotainment system sold by Tacoma Beast. I haven’t heard it mentioned but ran across it by accident on you tube. Just watching the install video and listening to to the sales pitch, it sounds like a pretty decent upgrade to my current stock 7” head unit. TIA

I recall something about having to set your door lock settings and some other of things the way you want before installing the Stinger.

I kept the factory radio on my 2017, but added kicker key 200.4, 500.1, jl stealthbox and focal rse-165/rcx165. Second skin damplifier 2mm pro on the inner doors and back cab wall too. It sounds really good with dsp, but no apple car play. I'd like to add the Sony 9500es from trail grid pro at some point. The Pioneer 6600nex is popular too.
