Is $350 a good price for a weight distribution hitch setup?

Forgot to mention that's installed price. And it's a "Reese" brand hitch

 

I see all the time on craigslist around $100-150. Installation is easy unless you are having welded.

 

that's in the middle of the range. Install on these is a joke. It's like buying a cell phone holder and the price includes install too!!! You can probably get it cheaper, just keep an eye on the weight ratings, because there are some that are more heavy duty for larger trailers and some lighter duty (which is still more than our trucks could ever handle). buy it seperately and watch some youtube videos or I'm sure you have a neighbor that has dealt with these before that can give you a hand.

 

I'm in orange county,ca. Anyone live nearby that can help me install one?

I understand the torque ratings are really high and require special, very expensive, tools

 

Never installed one myself but I can't imagine the torque specs being more than the normal 1/2" drive torque wrench could handle. I could very well be wrong to though since I have no experience with them.

 

From my research there is more to the Indian installation. Like installing the L brackets onto the trailer A frame. Installing the ball onto the hitch. All of these require special torque wrenches due the astronomical torque rating of like 320 ftlbs
