    For New Years, we eat black eyed peas, cabbage, and cornbread… based on traditions. Chinese do hand pulled noodles as the stretch is for long life. Anybody else? What did you eat? Why?

    Black eyed peas are for good fortune / resilience. I’d guess the pork is just pairing, as we use bacon for seasoning if cabbage is smothered and sometimes in the peas, but not a requirement.
