Here is a little mpg screen shot from a trip from pittsburgh to eastern Tn. It's the first longer trip I've done without taking my camper so I do not have a reference.

20-23mpg isn't too shabby. 2 adults maybe 75lbs in cargo. 265/75s

I just thought I'd let folks know that we can now support these trucks through our retail network.

 

Had the tune done about a month ago and I'm extremely happy. No more gear hunting especially on grades and on turns, just linear power throughout the band. Best mod IMO and I even have the Eibach Stage 2R which I like.
I have been driving it and I haven't got th better mileage but that's not why I bought the truck. I have the Light/mild setting and my compliments to Q at K T Tuning here in So Cal. I highly recommend this mod.

 

Any news or update per the 2024 Tacoma?

 

Great question!

We initially anticipated releasing an "OEM+" calibration this month. Still, recent developments and further refinements to our approach have led us to reconsider the timeline as we will have a "more complete" calibration available. Rather than releasing something prematurely, we believe it's in everyone’s best interest to hold off just a bit longer to ensure we’re providing a comprehensive solution akin to what OTT currently offers for all other supported platforms. Rushing to market with something less than ideal only to follow it up with another iteration shortly thereafter isn't aligned with our values or your time.

I expect to have additional details very soon and will surely share them here.

 

If you're interested in a sneak peak of what's coming/possible with this platform, below is a run from a Beta file which is compatible with Regular through Premium grade fuel. There is massive power potential relative to the previous generation's N/A engines. While this chart only shows WOT power, the calibration enhancements at part throttle are as as big or larger. There is a noticeable improvement in spool and part throttle torque.

Towing trials and data analysis have shown that the increase in torque available at part throttle can improve (lower) transmission temperatures, allowing the converter to stay locked or in a gear higher than it would have otherwise in stock form.

I think the best way I can summarize the current landscape for tuning the 4th Gen trucks would be: They don't necessarily "need" a tune like the 3rd Gen did, but what is possible, and what you can gain is 3-fold what was possible on any of the prior generation trucks. These things make 5.7L Tundra torque and horsepower tuned - in a midsize!

 

That is impressive! Have you determined what the safe limits are for increase on the stock turbo? I'm assuming a good bit of the tuning involves increased boost pressures.

 

I just had the tune done yesterday, does anyone know if it still works when in S mode or does it only apply when the truck is in Drive? Haven’t tried it yet

This has probably been answered but I'm having no luck with the search function.
What exactly does the tune change with regards to AGM batteries? Output voltage of the alternator? Does this increase wear on the alternator? Any downsides?

 

Correct, the charge voltage is corrected to AGM spec.
