I know HID may or may not be an issue, but I am happy with "better" using my NAPA H9 until I can justify spending money for OEM LEDs. But sadly daveeasa no longer makes the harness I need and Puppypunter is not sure he understands its workings enough to do the job. Maybe caribe-makaira can step in to help ...

I have read (well skimmed through) that post many different times, I can not see much of a difference in the 3 foot distance from the garage door pictures between the H9 and the H11 pics... And to be honest, I AM a hands on person that can rebuild transmissions, engines, rear ends blah blah blah, I have a 2 year Batcheler's degree in Automotive Technology with over 30 years in the field, basically a Master Tech (although I hate that term) and I have been the go to guy at almost every place I have worked at for 25+ years, but I also have a reading comprehension issue partly due to my left brain thinking and again, not much I can't figure out how to take a part and put it back together and make it all better... So all that post turns into is word salad after so much reading...

My question was more or less looking for real world driving down a curvy low lit back road showing how much better the upgrade is... When I was looking into upgrading the interior lights to LED's, I found plenty of pics showing the difference, and even when I went to the VTAILs, they showed side by side pics and video of how much better one was over the other...

SO forgive me for not being up to your standards of what EVERYBODY should be... Some of us might learn and understand things in different ways... But Damn I hate a freaking stupid ass blanket statement.... :annoyed::anonymous:

Neither. Save your money and just buy the German Sylvania H9 bulbs. https://www.amazon.com/DAMA-Automot...735841028&sprefix=sylvania+h9,aps,142&sr=8-10

The pictures don't do the change justice! It is very noticeable, 10' from the garage door and especially out on the open road...where them deers like to hide.

I am about to pull the trigger on the H9's, but I am straight up going with the ones recommended by (unless I am missing something, which tends to happen a lot lol) Mr crashnburn80 as I respect the time and energy he put into the bulb thread and recommendation of said bulb...

What was wrong with Morimoto XB's? I know they are high dollar lights. One would think they are good quality. I am thinking of getting them. Still on the fence.

Yes, those are the ones. I previously used PIAAs. Only marginally better at 3x the price, and they only lasted about 11 months. The Sylvanias I have in now are 2 1/2 years old.

It is virtually impossible to take a "neutral" photo with most modern cameras. They adjust the light to give you a "better" shot. So, a side-by-side comparison isn't feasible.
Crashburn80 does real measurements with proper instruments....he is worth listening to.

Even though I live in the suburbs, I see 10-20 deer almost every night in my front yard, they are bad in my city and the next one over, and we do have a lot of hilly/curvy roads with little to no lights...

They definitely are high dollar lights. Any slight fluctuation in temperature outside and they will fog up.

I recommend OEM TRD Pros with total tail conversion.

Fogging is normal for housings, even OEM. It hasn’t been reported much, but good to know in case we hear it from others!

Even though I have the upmost respect for the work he put into it, doesn't mean it is not overwhelming and hard for me to wrap my head around.. I was never good in school, even in shop class with the books, but a few minutes with my hands on a lathe and I was making crap... I learn by hands on, not from reading.. I am also surprisingly good with figuring out the very complicated work POS systems mainly cause I hit a button with my finger and I can see what it does, to the point I trained a lot of people how to use it and new the system better than most...
So all the real measurements with proper instruments he did, doesn't mean a lot to me...

But like I said, lots of interior pics between standard and LED lights that I could see as well as the VTAILs pics and video.. So most modern cameras seem to be able to do it good enough..

Again, I have never disputing ANYTHING that Mr Crashburn80 said, just wanted the picture book version... :bananadance:

There were reports of heavy condensation buildup inside the lenses and weak mounting tabs breaking off over time. Owners were told the condensation was normal. You can draw your own conclusions. The smoked versions look amazing on MGM trucks. I opted for the basic VLED total tail kit with oem tail light housings.

Thanks for that. I live out in the desert so I might have luck with no fog up. Very dry climate out here.

Fogging is normal with temperature changes. Condensation that pools / droplets is not and is handled under warranty directly by Morimoto in Atlanta.
