Same here. I had to go back to your pictures (got lost between the two donors you've had). It looks like you are using the J-shift transfer case out the of the automatic donor (based on the extra 4wd/N position switches on it) instead of the 2-4 selector transfer case out of the manual donor. Pairing the manual trans to the auto transfer case, you will have interference. You'll want the j-shift shaft out of a manual if you don't want to modify the one you have. It's also annoying the j-shifter has a screw on knob vs. the 2-4 knob that slips on. I wanted the button option for...other things lol

    P/N for the manual transmission j shift shaft (w/o 2-4 selector): 36360-35201
    P/N for the automatic transmission j shift shaft (w/o 2-4 selector): 36360-35251

Aside from all of this...manual 4 door with a supercharged 5VZ is so damn fun. The manual brings out the best in the supercharger/5VZ combo. I drove it that way for 7 years. But just finished my 1UZ swap with the 5 speed behind it last week.

I thought this would be the case with the two xfer cases but I was able to bolt it together fine. Had a guy on another forum run this same setup without issue so going to give it a shot and report back here.

Had to pull the transmission back off this weekend due to forgetting to add loctite to the flywheel bolts... live and learn I guess. Got that done + threw in the rear end. While I had the rear end apart went ahead and resealed the 3rd member + new wheel bearings. Don't think they were ever done on this truck so should be a smooth ride. Also, new drum hardware! These drums aren't nearly as bad as some I've done in the past. All in all pretty smooth weekend. Now onto wiring in the E locker + transmission/xfer case.

    Old Rear End coming out

    And Elocker in!

Drum Hardware. Old brakes were pretty worn out and e brake didn't work. Going to need a working e brake with the 5 speed.

Well, went to go start the truck after I got everything roughed in. Only transmission has been wired in so far, and wanted to make sure that was working fine. Started truck up and tons of white smoke from exhaust. It had been smoking a bit for awhile on startup, but now was much worse. Ran a Compression test and had low compression in one of the cylinders. Figured I may as well go for a head gasket job while the rest of the truck is taken apart already:rofl: This swap is quickly getting out of hand...

Sent the heads off to a machine shop for pressure check + decking if no cracks. Sounds like I caught the leak before it had any chance todo damage to the heads. All shiny and ready go go back on the truck.
