But also, same. I always figured that the ergonomics weren't design around Americans if you know what I mean.

 

At 6ft tall I'm plenty comfortable in a regular cab, even with the bench seat.

I know I'm the minority there but I just drove mine 1600 miles round-trip, solo, in two 800 mile days, and my biggest comfort complaint was wind noise.

Cruise control would have been nice too, but only if it came with enough power to actually hold speed up a hill.

 

There are fixes for this

 

I know, all these 1UZ swaps and turbo builds lately get my gears turning. Maybe someday. My aversion to vehicles that require premium fuel runs deep.

Think we can come up with an eco tune so I can get 25mpg on the interstate to offset the more expensive fuel?

 

You might be an anomaly. I know most tall people don't like the factory seating option. Smaller folks, seem to fit well. Maybe it's a leg/torso ratio that's the ticket.

 

I know I can get you better economy than you get now with a turbo setup, can even probably get a conservative enough tune to run regular (at the expense of mileage and power gains). Premium is a pretty small price at the pump difference

 

Think you're right there. It's be easier to tolerate with a longer torso and shorter legs

 

It used to be a small difference, I've seen the difference as high as $0.75 a gal more for 91 over 87. Per fill up cost isn't extreme but it adds up over time.

 

Huh, is that an NM thing? Here the difference is about .35c on average

 

Really, first fix is to address my uneven compression. I did a leakdown test a home and I seem to have a leak between two cylinders. It would be great if it's just a head gasket (I think mine was previously replaced with Fel-Pro) but I'm afraid to tear into it and find head damage. I've been keeping an eye out for a 3RZ to rebuild without taking the truck out of commission. My garage is too small to have an undriveable truck sitting in it for an extended period of time.

 

Well the good news is if it is sharing compression between two cyls then the likelihood of it being a HG is very high at least.
