I was wondering about your username lol

My dad lives in SLO (central coast native) and we’ve blasted through 227 a handful of times along with the road to Lopez. Some nice WOT runs out by the landfill! You might see him around on a current gen RSV4 Factory. Don’t think there are many around town lol

Thanks! I figured I might have rolled through your guys' neighborhoods. I took some video that I might try putting together for a youtube video but then I'd have to show my ugly face in it so I haven't decided.

looks like you went through SD on the 5, so we were at least within a mile of each other at some point. May have even passed you on the freeway one way or another depending what time you were in SD

why must you do this to me lol. at least I have until june to decide for the earlybird pricing.

I'm currently toying with the idea of buying a track pass or two, as well as a genny and some warmers. really want to do the Keith Code Superbike School, but the prices are putting me off. though I know it's pretty standard rate. $700 for a single day, $2800 for a 2 day weekend. not sure why it's such a vast difference with one extra day. Meanwhile the track pass for one org is $2600 to do every event for the year..which isn't a huge savings unless I do their NV events as well.

    decisions decisions...

Fwiw, Keith Code is a hardcore scientologist, and can be a little pushy with it. I've corner worked for them for a day, did the same exercises the students were doing, 3rd gear no brakes, etc. it's an experience. Th 2 day is much more immersive, you get to ride the counter steer bike, they've got some crazy tools to show how to control a bike.

That's a damned fine year in reality. It's really more about the smiles per year anyway and from your posts this year I'd say you did well.

I’ve put almost 7500 miles on the KLX this year, and 7200 on the Scrambler since I got it back in June. I’m happy with that for my first full year riding!

That's actually pretty impressive mileage for only riding one year! Helps that you live somewhere with a reasonable year round climate.

Do you think it's worth the significantly extra expense to do the 2 day camp? I'm finding it hard to justify nearly 3-4x the cost depending whether I bring my own bike or use one of theirs, but at the same time i know there's no replacement for proper coaching vs figuring things out myself on the track or with minimal instruction from control/fellow riders.

Yeah a buddy of mine also gave me the heads up on the scientology bit lol.

No exact numbers but I guess here's my year in review

    S1000RR - put on about 13k miles
Fixed up the R3 and put on about 6k miles
Purchased the R6 and put on about 3k miles

As far as trips, not as much as I'd like to have done. Took the BMW to Santa Barbara a few times, still aiming to do a weekend trip up the 1 at some point. about 7-8 track weekends, in B group now.

Yeh the fact that I high-sided my Scrambler and still got to ride that much is not lost on me. I fully recognize how lucky I was/am. Lol

It's a totally different experience, up to you to decide if it's worth it, are you chasing fractions of a second yet? Almost all the track days have instructors that are at the elite level, I'd start by asking your TD provider if there's someone there you could link up with for some one on one before you drop $2g on Keith Code. Are you wanting to race?
