I love that Grom body! That's gonna be a fun basher for sure.

I took out my 223S a few days ago and my town cops stopped to watch and shoot the shit with me; one of them even flipped it and he just kept apologizing

Good thing I had him use it at 50% throttle.

That's the one I was looking at as well, with the lizard pro combo. There's a couple in a fb group I'm in with the combo and the low end torque with the slow crawl looks absolutely great. This is going in your comp build?

I'm in too many metal working/CNC and car groups to join another one :rofl::rofl:

And yep, going to be my "comp" build or whatever the heck it is. Based on my use of parts, it looks like I'll fall into a Class III?

Really just want to learn about this whole comp thing and after I gain some experience, I could always swap parts as needed to meet class specifications.

With as many goodies as you bought for your Redcat, I'm surprised you haven't chassis-swapped it yet!

Lol that's all I have FB for is marketplace and different hobby groups. I need to figure out where I'll be competing and what rule book they use/follow. If we go off of RCMCCA rules, I'd like to try and fall into their class 2 rules

When I was answering your question, I saw most of what I was doing also fell into Class II as well when I saw the use of "LCG" chassis

I thought I read elsewhere that Class II was stock or stock-like frame/rails, only to see elsewhere saying LCG is ok

I'll definitely have a body on it and I think I'll do that last after the rig is put together

Since we keep talking about it, I'm sure you're formulating a few options for parts?

Still doing research on a chassis. Been looking at the gatekeeper v2 from veng rc. Will spend most of this weekend researching and should have a solid build list come next week

It's just hard to find much information for 1/24 setups as everything online seems to be tailored for 1/10

    True

And being new to crawlers in general, it's hard to find what is "standard" and what can be made to "fit" those standards

I've built clay-track cars to race, so I never had to deal with motor mounts with different spacing, transmission gearing, etc.

We dealt with spur and pinion gear combos along with specific turn motors. Then a quality ESC and programmable remote for tuning exponential rates both for steering and throttle not to mention fine tuning engine braking even. Let's not forget caster/camber too.

We even had to disable reverse for the races.

We'll figure it out though! Sharing build details here will definitely help. Just glad I got a ton of parts ordered already.

Hmm. I thought the 1/18s had all the cool stuff.

@Kwikvette we'll learn as we go! Mistakes will be made lol

I love my 1/18 ascent but I feel there's way more aftermarket support for the 1/24 scale. I could change directions with my 18 and make it a comp rig rather than my backyard crawler. It's already got a majority of the goodies lol

I'm sure there are plenty here with comp builds in 1/24

Guess some of us are just super late to the platform :bananadead:

Like me, I like them but I can only afford one size and one vehicle at a time. Maybe after the Vanquish and the Frankenstein tow truck. Although I had a thought last night I might need 2 straight axle crawler rigs next. :annoyed:

Looks like you now know what to build next - 1/24 comp crawler :spending:

I have class 0,1,2,and 3 sitting on a shelf in 10th scale. I wasn't aware of the classes in 24th scale until recently and just today looked into the rules for each class. My deadbolt would be class 1 just barely I think. As the tires are 57mm and the body seems to fit within the constraints. The other build with meus axles would be a class 2 or 3 as I'm not sure the until I get a body on it where it falls. I'd probably put a chassis on it but the class 1 seems to limit skid angles and such that make an aftermarket chassis limited in what it can improve.

Installing a 20kg steering box since mine was stripped and high clearance brass links to get some low weight on my scx10 II. Does this look right for the front? It kinda flops up and down.
