I bought them when I got a bumper for @Tour991 and I often had to move stuff around to move large sheets of steel; dollies came in clutch as it saved me from picking up and putting down said bumper 20 different times

You think you could drive around in front wheel drive with no rear axle with the leafs working like skis

 

You'll want to remove the rear drive shaft and make sure someone gets it on video.

 

So I know ubolts are supposed to be replaced if removed. But with mine being like 3 months old, is this a ‘you probably should’ or a ‘you’re going to kill somebody’ sort of thing

 

I don't think age has anything to do with it. The issue is that u-bolts are torque-to-yield. They deform as they're tightened. I think the problems arise when the new parts don't fit quite the same as the old ones, so the bolt has to re-form to a different shape. Doing that repeatedly will weaken it.

 

I haven't seen a set fail from reuse. I think it's definitely best practice but one of those things you can get away with. I know they say TTY but I don't buy I am not completely convinced. I think they say to replace because they get corrosion and dirt in the threads that give you false torque readings when reusing. Or most of us just zip em off with a death wheel. If they are newish and still clean, then you should be fine.

 

I reused mine when I put my Alcans on because I fucked up the specs on the custom ordered new ones and they didn’t fit. Replaced them about 3 months later when the right size ones came in. Lived to tell the tale.

I reused mine when I changed axles, replaced when I changed springs, mostly because I planned ahead and ordered them

 

if the ubolts are 9/16 or 5/8 and I know they weren't torqued to a crazy number, I be reusing them

 

Someday, I hope Amazon will develop an alternative to Facebook and Instagram. Zuckerburg software is constantly fucking up. If you are a paying customer and using it for business, it really sucks. They don't test jack shit before rolling out a release. The more I get into Amazon Web Services, the better I like it and hold more respect for the company.

 

Oof, that's a risky ask. AWS is only part of Amazon. I'd expect an Amazon-built Facebook competitor to have more in common with Amazon.com than with AWS, and that's not a pretty picture.

Both Amazon.com and Facebook have gone deep down the rabbit hole of prioritizing "engagement" (time spent on site) over usability (solving a problem efficiently and effectively). Half-brokenness is essentially a feature at that point; if it's broken enough that you spend more time on the site without being so broken that you leave the site entirely, that's a boost to engagement. Finding what you want eventually is better for business than finding what you want right away.
