    Ended up blasting one of those scrub bucks I mentioned right at daylight. Would’ve rather it been a doe, but I needed the meat.

    Across a big creek in the distance I saw 3 does run past followed by a really nice buck. A couple seconds later this dink comes by too, but makes a beeline from across the creek to 25 yards from my stand. Dropped him where he stood and the drag out with a gamecart was a breeze. Pretty perfect ending to my season.

    watch and see if you don't have them running around jumping up and down and having a blast. It always pissed me off that after Jan 1st when the season ends here in NC, that you'd see the dam things everywhere the days and weeks after the season closed.

    yea im blessed. this one and an 8 pt. our lease tore them up this year. killed more than the last 4 yrs combined. deer were low in the green fields.2 studs that were un killable. you could watch them at 1200 yds. but no way to get on them.they will carry on till next year i hope. already planning on a way to get one. i have a plan for my son.put his tower blind in there. go in in the middle of the nite. take a nap and plan on an all day sit.he will need a buddy heater. were talking a 140” 8pt. heck of a big buck

    these are all VA bucks from the western mountains. no crop fields for 20 miles. hay fields,some clover and acorns. we have a great piece of land leased. manage and all the land around us is managed.and all backed up by NF. people can get in there but its a hike. IMG_2870.jpg
