Very interested in one of these. Does the aerial camera view still work? Could you do me a really big favor and let me know how tall the door opening is, and how much clear vertical clearance there is inside? I like to sleep in the back.

Bed to roof is 39", bed to top door frame is 36". I've slept in min a few times with no problem. I do have some eye bolts threaded into the ceiling mounting holes (holes for table accessory) that are handy for moving around. I don't have a rear view camera but from other posts it's similar to what you would see through a standard mirror.

It has no effect on the MTM camera system.

Thanks for the dims! Are you the kind of guy that rounds up or down a little bit? Does the table mount have to be installed? I’m not likely to spend on that table.

Another use case for me is putting three cyclocross bikes in the back when I go to races in the fall. I loaded them up and mocked up a limbo stick for the door to see if I could live with it. With the forks mounted as low as possible, my bike are 38.5” tall. I’ve upgraded from a 1999 which had a high rise topper that cleared 39.5” at the door and 43” on the interior. I’m also looking at the ARE MX, but I really like the camera window, side doors and top rails. I just need to make sure I can live with the height.

Just slapped a tape measure on it quickly. From the top of a bed rib to the bottom of the roof beam is 38 1/4 so you'll probably want to go with a high-rise.

Several post prior he explains he didn't move it. RSI Smartcap has a cutout for the rearward digital camera as can be seen in his photos. Very cool. This allows the camera to view through the cap and rear window. The branding you are seeing is the applique applied to the window.

I went with the relocation as I have items stacked vertically which prevent any view through the cap. This is what I went with:

I didn't relocate the camera. That's the camera looking through the tunnel. You have to adjust the settings in the mirror.

just finished installing the GG offroad relocation kit, wasn't as bad as the video. hardest part honestly for me was putting that stupid coathanger clip back in headliner.. i don't think i still have it in right.
right now i just have the cables tucked away under the truck and tied up until i get my smartcap installed this coming weekend.

IKR. I managed to push that aluminum clip somewhere in the headliner rushing to put everything together for a trip. Then I lost that plastic cover piece. Months later and a few dollars shorter everything is back in place.

After a few months with my smartcrap, I'm having buyers remorse. Will probably sell it later this year and go with the Alu-Cab.

I live in Washington state, rains a lot here and it started to leak at the seams. Don't want the hassle of having to resealing it, don't like the build quality, too many plastic parts. And.. down the road I might end up with this issue, grinding off welds for looks is not a good idea.

I've tried to deal with their support on a sliding window issue, it was prolonged and frustrating experience. Emails take days to respond, the support number goes straight to voicemail.

Bought directly from RSI, self install. rsi smartcap leaking.

I think they have a quality control problem, so you get a mix of good ones and bad ones.
I just got unlucky, it wouldn't be a big deal if they would have just make it right.

Here is why mine started leaking. IMG_0006.jpg

Have you talked to Smartcap about that open seam? Plastic parts? The only plastic I can think of is perhaps the door handle. What am I missing?

Well, all of the nuts that hold the fore/aft structures together are plastic with thread inserts.
The sliding windows have these tiny end rollers and slider springs that are held on with friction. (The end rollers were missing on my R/H window causing a jam.)

I've been emailing smartcap for weeks, sent videos, pictures, etc. So far I've never been able to "talk" with anyone form Smartcap, the phone goes to voicemail.

The way it works is, you contact support, support contacts the "Fort Worth" plant for guidance, repeat...
One asked and answered, takes about a week, they want to win by attrition.

If I ever get a resolution, I'll post the the email thread.
Some of it is actually kinda funny,.. they sent me a video on how to slide open a window.
