    ^This

There was a light coating of snow on the roads one night when I was coming home from work last week. I had it in 2HI and slid going up hill. No one was around and I managed it ok. Put it in 4HI and had good traction for the rest of my commute.

Depending on conditions, I’ll more than triple the typical space between me and the vehicle in front.

That night I slid, I had someone on my ass for a couple of miles, I think I slowed to 5-10 miles under the limit and they were still there. Once I got to a passing zone, I put on my right blinker and braked a bit, they finally got the hint and passed.

    I f-ing hate tailgaters :censored::annoyed::angrygirl::frusty::jerkoff::brianr::luvya:

Couple years when I still worked second shift going home I was behind an older Camry that I felt was driving a little bit too fast for conditions. They wound up going the same way I was. I had my '21 Tacoma at the time and was just taking it easy in 2HI. Well, the Camry started getting squirley spun and slammed right into a telephone pole and blocking the road. I had my window cracked and could smell the weed, so I put it in 4HI and went around them. People give me crap for not stopping, but they did that to themselves. Plus there was a line of traffic behind me.

Last year it snowed a good bit on a Saturday and I was coming home from work. I was taking it easy, even being in 4HI. A little Hyundai pulled out behind me and rides right up to my bumper. We get stopped by someone saying the road ahead was blocked. I was easily able to get turned around, but speed racer in the Hyundai got stuck. Karma!

    Agree.

Frequently if I'm just doing recreational driving on secondary roads I will be quite a bit under the speed limit. I do keep an eye on the mirror and if I see someone coming up behind me I will step it up to the
limit as a courtesy. And then they commence to polish my bumper. :annoyed:

Okay -- so you are in a hurry, your time is valuable, whatever.. :jerkoff:

When I get to a clear passing zone I will noticeably slow down -- and invariably the dumb@$$ stays locked on my bumper -- 15 miles under the limit in a clear passing zone.

It is a shame being stupid isn't more painful. :smack:

I always step it up if I see someone behind me.

I used to leave for work before 5 am, coming through a little populated area (30 mph) a lady frequently would back out in front of me - even though the road was straight and she could see my headlights.
    :annoyed:

    And then...

She would drive at 25 mph in the 40 zone all the way to town. :frusty:

Again, it is a shame being stupid isn't more painful.

I'm on the road before 4am, so I usually don't have a problem. Occasionally will get behind a milk truck, but not a whole lot. Getting off work at 3pm though, ugh. I seem to get stuck behind this school bust hat has 5 stops in a 1/4 mile. Can't wait till they get that bypass in so I don't sit through that anymore. Then I'll get behind this school van that does 30-40mph in a 45 zone. A lot of times though I'll get in a group that are wanting to get home like me and we're all buzzing along at 65 allegedly in a 45 :anonymous:

On the converse, I’m sure you’ve encountered people speeding up when you’re lawfully passing them in a marked passing zone. My buddy considers this attempted murder. I first laughed this off but came to realize he’s right…

I call these people “pot smokers”.. Didn’t recall using this phrase out loud so much until I was talking with my mom who said she a bit late to somewhere because she got behind a pot smoker

you know you're only going to get a 1" light dusting now!

i got gas for the snow blower, but haven't filled it yet. haven't even dug it out of the long term storage spot in the back of the garage. if the newscasters were even half right, we'd already have had 3 feet of snow.

instead we've had 4 dustings, 2 of which i used a snow shovel, and only to keep the ice off the driveway until it melted the next day.
