Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I still have a mortgage and was kind of concerned, but it really is a non-issue unless you are living beyond your means...and from your posts, I don't believe that to be the case. A couple of months ago, I re-visited that part of my financials and with simple changes, I will be able to cut my payoff date in half. I luckily had really buckled down the last 12 years and had invested in my 401(k) and an IRA.

Retiring at 65, you do have to be aware of how much you make per year until full retirement, but it's not an impossible situation.

Making progress on cleaning up the shop a little at a time.

A local high school kid is starting to weld, so I passed along a couple of textbooks, my old welding table, a 5-hp chop saw (Kalamazoo), plate shear, Baldor Grinder, and a bunch of miscellaneous stuff. It helps me clean out that garage, and someone else gets a start without debt. I've gotten older, but that stuff has gotten heavier over the years. Amazing how much crap is still packed in there (I need to find a new home for the milling machine. Index 555 with powe x y z feeds. Beast of a machine in 1966, but manual machinists are dwindling.

Buddy, who cleaned out all my old wood for projects "someday," created a bunch of cutting boards he auctioned off for one of their church ministries. He made me a custom cutting board, which I admit is big, but I'll keep it (I am still wondering how we ended up with seven cutting boards, but I need to thin those out.

I got cut off before I could finish my 101.5 KGB fm story. When I lived in San Diego we would make a point of going to Charger stadium after, I think SD state would play there, KGB fm would put on the sky show, the radio station would play music and fireworks would shoot off in correlation to the music. I would set my speakers in the back of the truck, crank the sound, crack some beers and pretty soon the party was at Dino’s truck. Sorry for rambling on, I just had a bout of nostalgia. Cheers!

I grew up in San Diego in the 60s and 70s. Wow, kgb fm, that was a total flash back for me, and charger stadium. I feel so old now, lol.

Yup...good times for sure...pretty sure it was one of the Sky Shows where they introduced the KGB Chicken...which became the infamous SD Chicken.

Yup...went to many Padres and Chargers games at The Murph...which became The Q...and is now razed and gone. Good memories for sure...I also attended a World Series Game there, Padres vs. Yankees...yup lots of great SD memories.

Wow! Old thread, I was 60 when this thread started. Now I'm,...73. I live in Sacramento right down the road from SF. Lots of music stories from the 60s, 70s, etc. Handed money to Bill Graham entering the Fillmore many times.

    Good Morning :hattip:

I remember listening to the Mighty Met 94.7 and KLOS 95.5 FM Rock and Roll radio stations back in the early 80's while stationed at MCAS El Toro . The morning DJ's were awesome

Cutting board is sweet! Kudos for helping out a young student.

    Welcome to the thread.

Good morning. Happiness is in our house this morning. Both the Skins and the Lion won yesterday. Snow on the ground with more on the way, high of 27 today. The concert yesterday was a lot of fun. It was held at the local Elk's Lodge in Deale, MD. Brought back a lot of memories for me and my wife. Made me miss my Dad and Mom a lot more than usual. Stay warm today and do not do anything foolish when doing snow removal.

Good morning! Great dinner with VP and his wife. Food was incredible. Not sure if you have one near you, but Cooper's Hawk Winery and Restaurant is worth a try! Turns out our wives have a ton in common. We have new friends, what a blessing!
Today, wife and one step-daughter go on a cruise. Excited for them! I'm coasting for a few more days until starting the new gig. Going up to the farm tomorrow, just me and our dog for a few days. Get some quite time and clean out the shed. Change oil in the Massey Ferguson, see if I can get the mini-bike started. Great therapeutic work.
Thankful to God for health and strength, among all the blessings. :amen:

Happy Monday, donut makers and porch patrollers. :) :hattip:

Well-well, my wife thought we left all of the heavy snow behind us when we moved from New Hampshire to Maryland last summer; yeah, about that, here in Montgomery County the forecast is for 5-10 inches with areas receiving "Heavy Banding" getting up to 16 inches. Personally I love snow, so the more the better, but she is not so sanguine about how much snow we're getting today.

Here's a shot of our driveway when we lived in New Hampshire.
