Last minute of the last day, Cole got it done. His 1st season killing 3 deer. 1 with the rifle, 2 with a muzzle loader.

We saw 15 today at my buddy’s place.

Congrats to Cole, and for you getting him interested in hunting. Not enough young hunters these days. Too many of our younger generations are interested in using their thumbs on electronic gizmos.
I tried to get both of my girls into hunting but that didn't happen.

We were tracking Cole’s deer and he spotted this skull then said there’s a dead deer :D He double lunged her and she still went 150 yards, probably cause she was running down hill.

All the does on that property...that deer might've died with a smile on his face. :)

first sorry for the late reply and happy new year.
I left some public honey holes in deep east Texas a couple years ago that yielded plenty to shoot at and, once in the spots, I never encountered more than ONE other hunter in 7 years and he never knew I was there! Davy near Crocket and Groveton, Angelina southeast of Broadus, Indian Mounds east of Hemphill. I think east Texas bottoms are awesome but you gotta do a little front end stuff yourself. They are not like the hill country to be sure. Timber companies there will bend over backward to sell you a swamp that they can't cut too by the way if'n you have those sort of options available.

Anyway if you come up empty by July, PM me and I'll send you my spots and how I hunted them... good luck either way.
