@Kwikvette I'm gonna toy with different link positions and see what happens. If I notice hang ups at the skid I'll put in an order for Mazz links. On my ascent all my hang ups were at the front axle portals because of how exposed they are. Also head assembling the Mazz links are kind if a pain, let me know how your experience goes

It will be a big help, especially with the stock body

Dude I hated putting together the Injora, now I'll have Mazz links to put together

Not cause they're hard but just tedious as hell :bananadead:

Speaking of parts, these just arrived!

Not my first time doing this, removing tires from wheels with acetone. Usually requires a few hours of soak.
This was after 20 minutes. Tires are fine, wheels are blobs.

    oops.

So those are plastic wheels that were glued on?

Yep. I despise gluing wheels. Usually they come off with few issues, this plastic is a bit "soft".

    Gotcha

Yeah we glued wheels for our race RCs

When I saw that beadlocks were used in crawlers I was like hell yeah

Which reminds me, I don't know what wheels to get for the comp rig....so many to choose from :annoyed:

After watching you and @Strictlytoyz start your comp builds, I have been watching vids on the subject. I might go down this road as well, but not until I see what you guys come up with. :D
I did order an Injora UTB buggy cage for the old SCX10, see what that turns into. I need a camp bash buggy.

It's been fun seeing all the many parts available, with many of them all being "a solid purchase" so kind of hard to go wrong with a lot of parts

He bought Super 8 axles which I kept looking at and almost pulled the trigger on

We got the same chassis, although a tiny bit of that is due to others either being sold out, or not as recommended

Then there's the whole issue of neither of us having a 3D printer so we're stuck buying parts anyway

I'll keep this thread up to date as parts come in, when I finally build it, and finally when I take it to the indoor course at my hobby shop

I'd love a 1/10 but that'd be too big to use anywhere around here :bananadead:

    @Strictlytoyz

Forgot to add as a helpful hint

When I was looking into axles (before purchasing the Meus), I had learned that the Super 8 axles are just about the only axles that position their lower links and/or shock mounts farther out

So when you mess around with link placement, you might want to try mounting the links outboard? Just while you figure things out of course

The faux beadlocks are going on the TT with pin tires. They hold fine for carpet racing.
(the dissolved plastic wheels had nothing to do with this decision, I swear)
Leaving the two "remaining" plastic wheels in the back for less weight. :homer:

*Insert did we just become best friends gif here*

Seems like there is a lot of stuff out there. Not sure how well some of it would hold up unless you're using an advanced filament, but I hope to get CF stuff going sooner rather than later. PETG should be good enough for some of it, too.

Bodies, sliders, bumbers, chassis, links, wheels, I'm kind of shocked how much is out there, honestly.

    Yep!

I'll browse from time to time, see all the cool shit, and tell myself "damn I'm glad I don't have a 3D printer"

I planned on going outboard. Definitely something that got my attention with the Mazz chassis. Worse comes to worse, if the rcaddiction links don't work and Mazz is still out of stock (I read you literally have to buy the day he drops inventory or you're shit out of luck because of how fast his shit sells) I'll just make my own sleeved links.

They're selling the model file (STL) for you to print it yourself. You could print a body to use it but it would be more fragile, and heavier than a lexan body. The file looks a bit low detail (the blockyness) so it would some finishing to make it look really nice.

I don't own a 3D printer, hence my not knowing anything about anything 3D print related.

There are only so many lexan bodies though and that 911 or BMW-truck body would be bitching on a comp crawler

But good point about a printed body being more fragile. Wasn't sure if it could be made to be a bit rigid as I only expect it to fall/tumble on small obstacles just a few inches tall.
