A window fan in January?

 

My house has dual-zone HVAC, and the furnace for the 2nd floor is located in the attic directly above my room. It gets too hot, so I run either window A/C in fan mode, or the window fan. In the summer, I have to run the window unit despite having 2-zone central A/C, because the morons who build the house ran a 12-inch duct into a 10-inch vent. The thermostat has to be set to 67°F in order to keep my bedroom comfortable when it’s really hot outside. Only recently did the third HVAC tech we had out here discover the problem of the large duct being run into the small vent. My dad is going to have an another duct run off the bottom of the indoor unit which is the cheaper option, but I have a window unit so it isn’t exactly top of the list. I like it cold as a result of autism related sensory issues, and my parents are respectful of this fact when it comes to the resulting energy consumption. They have been very nice about it.
