They look like renderings meant for a resin printer. A filament printer would have a lot of supports and the thin parts (A&B pillers) might not be as clean. Depending on printer and settings, there would be lines leftover from the filament printer.

I've done a few small 3d parts, toying with a full cage or body project idea. A couple servo mounts, battery covers.
Links are entirely possible, if nothing else for experimental trial and error then go custom aluminum when it's dialed in. PETG does flex a bit, but no more so than kit plastic.

There are some tricks to thicken the structure, and better materials to print it from for more durability. It would be fine for a mini for the most part if made out of PETG or ABS.

    Oooh ok, thanks for that.

All I know about resin printers is they're more for creating detailed items?

Thingaverse has enough things anyway so I can skip that site I linked.

Resin printers can print finer detail yes. Usually we use them for fit and finish parts since the resin isn't as durable as a real thermoplastic part in many cases.

Finally finished the BBX build. It was pretty fun to put together, but it's a crazy tight chassis to wire up.

@Kwikvette Hell yeah man, slowly but surely. My first parts arrival should be on Monday. Happy with my injora shafts on my ascent. My tx and rx showed up today so I'll be able to mess with the new esc and brushless I have on the Ascent

    Nice!

Dude I keep going back and forth on a TX

Small part of me is like fuck it, buy another Futaba again but the other part is like...that's a stupid decision especially for just 1 crawler :violent:

Been seeing good stuff about that Flysky you mentioned

I love my futaba 10px. I am slowly swapping many of the others over to it from my 4pl. I have hated the experience of the stock remote on the scx24 and I am excited to get the das mikro receivers bound to my futaba. It's pricey but if you plan to get another it's the only protection from can I drive?

Even cheaper TX can do multiple vehicles.

I've only had Futaba and loved them but this time I have to be realistic - plus this was supposed to be a budget build :bananadead:

Having a nice radio could mean it'd be something my kid might wreck (by accident or not, once he starts getting into it)

    @odomandr

Sounds like that 4PL is gonna waste space on the shelf, you should donate it to make room for another RC :anonymous:

It has excellent mixing for my moa xr10. If I could get that set up on the 10px I'd consider letting the 4pl go.

Talk of 3d printing a chassis inspired me to do better than this dumpster fire I made earlier.
Being a cheap model, it's perfect for experimenting.

A work in progress. The first iteration of side plates. The shocks are Injora and are oil filled.

I attempted to make the links equal front and rear, ditched the plastic front links and had enough parts to make some longer ones, still a bit short of the rear. If I can find enough of these, I'll change them all. Helicopter links were used.

Pin drilled some shock holes, this is what I came up with. I'll redo some of the angles and get it more streamlined. Might be a half dozen prints of this before it's "done".

When the top part gets redone, it might be able to drive upside down.

Man, when the fam is alseep I keep bouncing back and forth with these chassis links

Part of me wants to make my own, but the other part of me is not sure what the appropriate "joints" and shit I'd use on the link ends.
