    Speaking of short wheelbases.... 472785980_10161876568359519_594003184257_daacf0f472bb6420d8a666ab1625bac7720aa5f6.jpg

Was it my nagging that you weren't building the GX what tipped you over the edge

    Not at all

It was the Rav4 that made me decide we'd use that for the family rig

We've been using it everywhere we go with the little dude, and I only take the GX places where I go solo

Don't worry, I disappoint myself enough to be bothered by anyone's opinions :rofl::rofl:

Plus a truck is a way better platform for wheeling!

I had a 4R (smaller, more manageable than a GX) and even that thing got tipsy

I do value a bed though

    @time623

You finish your swap? I assume you already ran it through the rubicon by now? :luvya:

All wrapped up, and yes I took it through my rubicon (around the block) to make sure its functional. If I screwed something up, it wasn't a big enough fuckup to show itself yet
Lockers working while on stands so I'm sure its fine

Its looking like a rough time to hop back into the 1st gen market, at least around here. I can't barely find any decent 4x4 for under 10-12k. I think 1st gens are officially more valuable than 2nd gens.
Theres a real clean 77k mile truck up here though, for $20k of course :anonymous:

I keep seeing prices drop around here on marketplace

Shit is getting more expensive (generally speaking) but people aren't buying

Dealers have lots full of cars, lots of houses still up for sale, then again we're at a point where people are now just waiting for tax season before spending money again

Yeah I’ve definitely noticed with regular cars, especially when looking for the gf. Probably just havent been paying attention to taco prices for a while though

yeeep. I put some large fender washers in as well to mitigate tearing the sheet metal. probably could do more by tack welding them in place but :notsure:

Seems like regular cabs are the cheapest Tacomas here. Double cabs are the most expensive. Extra cabs are all over the board depending on condition and features/upgrades.

This one looks like it could be a fun beater/project (it has obvious front end damage, so far from mint) but temp tags in the listing (and unexpired ones at that) are a huge red flag. 472503029_8843554032418620_7947067074731_e60c4b4b46fd1103e3f45431890355ece038680e.jpg

Yeah this is what we’re working with over here It’s all the damn midwesterners driving up prices buying them here and shipping them back to a slow rusty death
Not that I’m really mad my trucks just going up lol

Is there some appeal to flat beds beyond looking cool and I guess not having bed sides to smash up?

I think they look cool too, but utility-wise they seem like a downgrade for most things most of the time.

Larger loading area for carrying shit

More utility (with tie down points, etc)

And for me, it'd just be fun cause I want a new welding project

Of course you'd give up the ability to cover shit

You'd lose the ability to have things sit inside (bed sides/tail gate to keep things contained)

And I'm sure other shit I'm forgetting

Yeah, that's what I mean by "a downgrade for most things most of the time". If you're a rare person who will actually carry things large enough (but still light enough that a Tacoma can handle them), and doesn't mind tying everything down, then it's an upgrade.

    But it looks cool anyway.

I totally get it as a welding project too, that would be fun.

That would probably be a 10k+ truck here too, being that clean and under 200k.

Personally I don't like the two-tone paint (or wrap?) and replaced seats. For that money, I'd want it to be all original.

If you aren't too picky about looks you can get something a lot cheaper here, although it's still more than I'd want to pay for something with failed paint: https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/d/littleton-2003-toyota-tacoma-4wd-one/7813571781.html
