Kids drove 3 days across the country to visit us for like 5 weeks over the holidays.
They brought out a sour-dough-starter and this was the first loaf.... we devoured it within an hour.

We made 2 more loaves in the next 2 days, each getting better than the last.

I plan on cranking up my Ooni Pro 16 with some oak-wood and cooking up some 'rolls' soon.
    Should be excelllllllent.

Those Ooni pizza ovens are sweet. I can't decide between the indoor electric or outdoor gas version.

I dunno. Expensive for what they are. I’m biased I just can’t eat that many pizzas on account food makes me fat

I bought a unit for inside my grill that works well but just have not used it a ton

I did eat a lot of pizza when we were in Napoli

Nice! I've recently learned you can dry out starter and leave it to dry out, then put it in a jar pretty much indefinitely in the fridge and it'll come back. So I'm tempted, because I like my sourdough, but it'd be nice to take a break for a couple months and not worry about it

I might have to give it a go with a lean red meat sometime. I have a lb of turkey in the freezer I am planning to do this with. I just use a bag of coleslaw mix though.

Does a foodie dog count? Birthday dinner - steak, chicken, rice, some turkey broth to keep it all together and go down easier, and some kibble to fill in the gaps. She was not opposed.

I don't think they make the 16 anymore. I not only cook Pizza on it but also bread rolls, and I'll use small cast iron platters to cook chicken/veg
in it as well. It gets really hot up to 900 degrees so you can sear the food quick. The oak-wood leaves a nice taste to it as well. I don't
work anymore so I can spend hours prepping, chopping small pieces of oak, setting up etc. I'm not rich but I eat damn well, and it's
the best revenge out there. Oh we cooked some Naan Bread in it once, turned out excellent.

I went incredibly simple for this first attempt. One carton of vanilla Premier Protein drink and 2 tablespoons of vanilla pudding mixed with an immersionblender. Frozen for 24 hours, spun it then mixed in 2 low sugar peanut butter cups.

Awesome, thank you will be trying this out. We have made normal ice cream in it and my daughter makes smoothie bowls all the time. Pretty handy gadget.
