Ha! I used the xacto knife cause it was in the house and I was nice and warm and didn’t want to go out to the garage.

no worries; in the pinball restoration circles, it is common to take a whole wire harness and clean it in a dish washer (without the heated drying cycle) and then just be sure to put it somewhere to dry thoroughly. these harnesses are pvc coated wire, and carry 5v to 100v. I have no concern for your wires getting temporarily wet, just think of the wires under hood and under carriage.

Bought this so I have an excuse to crawl under my truck ... before the weekend. Bought a self-contained oil pan to save pouring out of the open-plastic pan into the bottle. Going to drop the skid plates for clean/degrease and will post pictures if Schnebly Hill put more gouges in the plates. @MGMDesertTaco, @RIX TUX ... do you want to know how close I am to 30k?

If you have a holesaw drill out that opening for less mess. Otherwise, crack the big red knob on the side. Those pea sized drain holes and the small vent on the top don't work with the Tacoma's "I gotta wee oil everywhere at once" drain procedure.

Mines currently 63k and change. Wanna swap drivetrains? I wish I had under 30k still.

Thanks for the advice. I will work on the holes under the fill-cap and open the drain side a little. Fumoto controls the oil outflow for main-pan. I somehow locked the silver cap on the filter housing before so that will be a mess to remove ... but I have a second filter-housing/cap to swap and will break the silver cap loose on the old filter-housing later. I bought enough nitrile gloves to hopefully have clean hands.

Swap may not work ... you have 2WD IIRC. But I have also burned brain cells to forget pictures posted by certain members ...

Same oil pan I use. The handle sold me. Super nice & convenient when you're carrying it into the store for disposal. Mines a couple years old with no issues.

@RichochetRabbit That's really looking out for a fellow member.

    Translation:
"Of course I want that mileage. I really can't wait any longer for it. You know it's really surprising, to me, you have made me wait this long to know your mileage at this oil change. Step it up will ya?"

    This and that
Rough country stuff is pretty rough but they have some gems here and there. I have a set of the fender flares.
    https://www.roughcountry.com/product/configurable/rc-toyota-sport-fender-flares-s-t11621c
And a couple of fridge slides
    https://www.roughcountry.com/product/rough-country-cooler-sliding-tray-99021
But you have to be selective. And tbh the flares weren’t the 15 minute project I thought they were gonna be. But they look good.

That means you are paying more in registration fees now. If I remember correctly it goes up at 5000. If you can ditch a couple hundred pounds temporarily and reweigh you can save some money.
You are paying $74/year in extra fees for the extra weight. If you can lose a few pounds to get under 5000 and reweigh it you won't have to pay that. Tailgate and spare tire are an easy chunk of weight to lose. I was contemplating stripping my truck down to try to get under 4000lbs to save some money but since I have a 4x4 DCLB I wasn't sure it was possible to lose the 400-500lb needed without major surgery.

Do these flares stick out farther or just go up higher? Nice to see flares that aren't the silly bolt head design.
