Not the end of the world but think now that I went 35% on the windshield tint & ditched the 50%, the auto high beam feature isn't switching...
The feature that senses on coming light & shifts from high beam to low beam, & vice versa, repeat.
    Which makes sense.....

Is there a setting to increase sensitivity for the auto high beam function?

I did see in custom settings, lights, headlights, auto on sensitivity adjustment...

But im guessing that is just an adjustment to determine when the lights actually come on as it becomes dark.....

Would imagine its not all combined into ones setting...

    Thanks for any insight.

I thought it was based off the windshield camera so the question I have is do they tint the inside or outside of the windshield? Never had it done so not sure where they do it.

You pretty much borked it when you decided to alter the parameters of the light coming into the camera. I thought good tint shops were not supposed to tint around the camera module.

I drive in places where is 100% legal to tint the shit out of your car and they always advertise they’re not going to mess with the camera.

I could be wrong but think it has nothing to do with the camera by the rear view mirror...
Think it's about altering the incoming light through the windshield at the round sensor on the right side of dash.
Sits right at the dash surface, where the dash & base of windshield come together....

Theres no tint by the camera, camera wasnt touched....

So think these 2 comments are off in left field...
Also just asking if theres a sensitivity adjustment...

All that does is sense when to turn your headlight on or off, along with dimming the infotainment system. It's the camera in front of the mirror that senses headlights and taillights.

Well theres zero tint blocking the front camera...
Ill have to pay better attention next time I drive at night, but pretty certain this morning I didnt see any transition with oncoming traffic, the high beam blue light stayed on as I passed a few vehicles....

Maybe its fine, come to think of it now, if the head light / high beam arm is pushed forward, the auto high / low beam is de-activated.
    Ill have to check that....

I turned the auto high beams off. It's way too finicky.

Oncoming car? Turns them off. Great!
Behind a car? Turns them off. Neat!
There's a streetlight! Turns them off. Hmm. Okay...
A house on off to the side of the road with a porch light on! Turns them off. Er...
Reflection off a picture window! Turns them off. Wait...
Lights up a road sign! Turns them off. Wut.

I'm amazed that feature made it out of testing.

The technology just isn’t that good.

My third generation has the feature for some reason and it behaves the same way.

We were just pointing out that tinting over the camera might cause problems.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

That summarized my entire experience. Had this features on my 3rd gens and a Subaru. Hated both and just do it manually.

I find the auto high beams work awesome in my truck..in town and on the highway. You sould have seen it's operation in my father's 1966 Chrysler New Yorker...now the that was a cluster...

Possibly, that's my guess & maybe didnt realize until after the fact...
Will recheck at 5 am tomorrow....
    That's how I feel!!!
Seemed great from my drivers seat, never experienced any of the negative issues mentioned above...
Lights have performed great to begin with in regards to brightness & not having to fiddle fuck with high beams due to oncoming traffic, & putting it on auto-pilot works for me....

Sometimes people get their windows tinted because they have photosensitivity issues.

But usually because they think it looks cool. And apparently like being pulled over for tint violations on the regular.

I do have a gnarly stigmatism & have had lasik, so at night the oncoming led's are so bright, I cant see the lane markings that im in...
The stig & the lasik are a double whammy in the light sensitivity dept...
The tint does help, but does make it harder to see at night.
    Manageable though...
50% was probably the smarter option, but 35% is soooo much cooler...
TOTALLY 100% illegal in california, but ide say 2 out of every 3 cars on the road have fully tinted dark windshields.
Not really being inforced for the most part, Im sure theres the occasional stickler cop....
    From what im seeing, being inforced way less than say 10 years ago & back then, nobody was running full tinted windshields on the regular;
    Yup.....
Adding a bunch of lights to make-up for it too.....

I don't like auto highbeams. That's good that there is way to disable them. I don't usually use highbeams at all. I don't think I have ever been in a situation where I needed highbeams and also had oncoming traffic. LED and HID lowbeam almost eliminate the need for highbeams.

People have gotten absolutely ridiculous with the highbeams and auxiliary light usage in normal traffic. If there are street lights low beams are all you need.

I’ve driven in cars that are specifically tinted so you can’t easily see inside and I can 100% guarantee that it doesn’t affect your ability you see at night.

Also, most modern cameras have a pretty decent ISO range so about the only thing that you’re going to mess with by installing a tint is their ability to discern how much light actually is outside IF you cover up the housing.

So about the only problem I can see is if the tint is covering the camera that is deciding how much light is coming at your vehicle and whether it should dim the high beams or not.
