Well like many on here.... We got caught in the storm.

YES we stay prepared for this type of stuff, but God has a way of throwing things you cant plan for in at the same time. This was one of those times.

My little area of SE Ohio actually got over 10" of snow & about 1/2" of ice. Go just a couple miles away on the WV side of the river & they got 6".. so location location is always a thing.

Sunday morning started off with all that snow/ice. As I opened the crate door to let Browser out he started pouring blood out of his........ YEP. He put down a puddle & trail all the way across the living room, to the garage door & to outside. Scared the absolute life out of me. This was a stream.

Instant thought was UTI of some sort. But this was arterial blood. Not urine with blood.
Checked him from all over couldn't find an injury or cause. He went all day acting just fine with no more issue. Of course the weather got worse, the roads got all closed & THEN it happened again at 5pm. Getting worried at that point. Then again at 10pm. NOW I'm seriously having a fit. There isn't a single place open, also now way to get to one & my boy is in bad shape.

I sat up with him all nite & at 4:30am it happened again & it was more. All I could do was hold him on my lap & yes even being a macho tough construction worker I cried for hours. Called every emergency 24hr animal ER I could find. All an hour or 2 away on a good day & we had level 3 travel restrictions. Anyone in Ohio knows that means if they see you, you get pulled over & a ticket at least.

Finally got a hold of our Vet at 7am. (Yes we called his personal number) He said he was on his way to the office if we could get there. We bundled my lil man up & put him on the wife's lap in her Renegade. It's AWD & I've always been a good hazardous road driver. Out of the garage we went onto the driveway... YEP was dragging snow with the bottom of the car... Backed her up & down the hill we went. Not a big deal for me, headed to work many days this way, Wife was not so thrilled as she is a white collar worker & from out West. Our driveway is 13* down for several hundred feet.
That's a BIG downhill on ice/snow. Good news is the snow is your friend there as you get a little grip.
Out of the drive we go onto the ice roads. Took 40mins to make a 12 mile drive. Saw 3 wrecks.

Cops were too busy with those to pull us over. Get to the Vet & thankfully our Vet fixed my boy.
Somehow my boy managed to put a tear in his peeny on the inside of the cover! YIKES!!

Oh holy hell that's not something you want to happen or see repaired. The Vet was by himself, no one else made it in. Which meant I had to hold my boys front end while my Wife held the back end & the Vet did the work. UGH. Several shots to the peeny later he started stitching him up.

Ouch ouch ouch is all I can say about that. Browser is now on some pain killers & anti biotics... But he lives!! Then we did the drive home. NOW that drive home. That driveway i skied down? There was no chance of getting up that. On my 3rd try made it far enough that we are out of the road.

Walked up that in the tire tracks from the down trip carrying my 64lb bullydog. Didn't have the heart attach, but man that just wiped me the hell out. Got him inside & crated up, took care of the other dogs, ate some food, took a shower & just collapsed for a couple hours.

That brings us to today: gotta deal with the mess I made of the driveway. Pushing the first pass down will be no problem. Not sure will be able to get back up to make a 2nd pass .... We'll see. That will probably be in the tractor thread. Just wanted to vent/share this ordeal with my fellow oldies in here.

This was just as hard as dealing with injured/sick kids! It truly is harder on ya as you get older.
Always thought that since I had "more experience" these things would get easier. NOPE.

My wife is a pharmacist and I always ask her why they make some drugs SOOOO big. Like horse pill sized. Why not two smaller ones. She has no idea.

So random but…
About a year ago I heard about a class action suit against Verizon where they were in trouble for double charging customers for certain fees/taxes. For years. Anyone that was a Verizon customer was eligible to sign up and possibly get some fees returned as part of the settlement. The deadline was April 2024. so I signed up and all but forgot about it. Saw something on the news a couple weeks back that reminded me of it, realized I never heard anything more after submitting my info and thought oh well. Well I was cleaning up my computer last night and getting rid of old bookmarked pages that I don’t need any more. Ran across the webpage for the settlement and clicked on the FAQ page just to see if it was still ongoing or whatever. Didn’t find any answers and deleted the bookmark. Check my email this morning and there is the email with a link to my part of the settlement. Weird coincidence. I didn’t do anything more than view a couple of pages on the website last night but maybe something triggered it to send me the money? Otherwise weird as hell that it just happened to show up today.
But now I have an extra $14.81 to my name

I got almost $13 but I can't seem to spend it. It can only be spent online. I tried to enter the information on the Keurig site but it wouldn't work. To be honest, I'm not going to bust my ass for $13. EDIT: Tried another site and got the card added. I'll try not to spend all at one time.

I had forgotten bout that until I received an email (that I almost deleted as suspicious). The $14.91 probably won't last long.

Thank you for all the well wishes for my lil man!

He's an absolute rock star every where I take him. Naturally there were lots of bloody dick pix, but didn't figure we needed to post those. If I stumble across one of the non x rated pix of the blood everywhere will throw that in.
