Actually, your probation officer wanted evidence I had that you were attending your "mastering quiche" classes as you promised and you were just SOOOOOOO proud of your new "Silver Bullet" ...

For me, half ton trucks. Either a late model 5.7 Tundra or those new 5.0 F150. 3/4 tons definitely super duty for both gas or diesel (looking forward to see the 2025 Cummins refresh tho in a day or two). Cab, bed configuration depends on what you need. Maybe I have been driving older vehicles, but the friend's Raptor's ACC is super nice on freeway after we are all tired heading home after a trip.

I will only give-up my manual gearbox for an EV.
All other vehicles are EVs for us already... I see no downsides. - I've enjoyed all the advantages.

Especially the minimum maintenance AND our ability to fuel up 100% with the free sunshine that lands on my roof!
    - Unless wer are off on a long trips, of course!

Performance is way, WAY beyong anything ICE certainly, - But access to free (& clean!) fuel is amazing! :D

Beast of a truck there. :101010:

I've looked at those and the base GT moostangs quite a bit lately. Both need a Whipple and I kind of prefer the extended cab F-150's over the crew cabs. It's easier to find a regular cab F150 with the 5.0 than any of the other cab configurations. :burnrubber:

I don't know his credentials either. I feel the same way about Toyota and I would have no hesitation buying a 2025 Tundra.

It may have been an 87? Pretty sure it was earlier than that but then again I was young. I do remember the HO on the intake though. It was a Fleet Vehicle. Any chance you could special order it that way?

1987 was the first year of the Aero Style, l believe 1982 was the "Boss Is Back" campaign and thus the first HO.

On mustangs the 1st yr for fuel injection was 86 I believe. Not sure if 86 or 87 was the HO but I do know 89 was the 1st yr for mass air.
This is confusing the carb HO with the efi HO... the 1st yr for fuel injection on the stang gt was 86. But the foxbody 5.0 HO was is is considered 87 and up. 89 and up having mass airflow.

My memory says MAF started in 1988, but think that may have been California emissions States only, then nationwide in 1989.

No, the HO was never put in the trucks. That was just a plate on the intake though and someone could have easily switched it.

    This is right.

Funny enough I have an offroad x pipe on my car and want to go back to catted. It stinks like gas at idle. Best part is I've passed emissions with it for 20 years and this year is the last time I'll ever need to test the car. And now I want to take it off.

Getting older is weird. I find myself opening up the active exhaust on my 19 less and less.

Jesus! I'm 51 and I still drop the wife's car into Sport Mode (opens up a flap in the muffler) and down shift when I pull up to an intersection by the local church in our neighborhood.
The little kids get excited and the adults look disgusted. So ya know - I'm doing it for the kids and all. Spreading joy one downshift at a time.

Wish I could get it to crackle a little bit.

Domestic vehicles and reliability were never a thing. Going back to the dealer often is the only thing they have that's reliable:anonymous:
