    Thanks,
I was pretty happy with it. I had to get a little inventive with how I tied it down but it worked nicely in my DCSB

Not sure exactly where you are in these drone photos, but there is no drone usage within any part of the Mojave National Preserve, fyi.

Also, Sheep's Bridge is hardly worth it. Having been there, I won't be traveling back. The hot spring is not 'hot', and is definitely unsatisfying.

I'll second broken down cars on that route:

Unfortunately both Sheeps Bridge and Schnebly look cool in pictures, but are heavily in the category of "Once was enough"
Ive done both on both 2 wheels and in a heep, I dont plan on going back in my Taco any time soon.

Like taco bell, I only visit those places to remind myself why I dont visit them

LOL. That whole area is my stomping ground (Cordes/Spring Valley) and spent a lot of time out there. Even had to get air rescued out of Sheep's Bridge once back in highschool after wrecking my Jeep and getting stranded by flash floods.

This was in Nevada, probably an hour+ north of the Mojave national preserve. I checked DJI FlySafe, etc before deciding that I would be flying out there.;)

Can I ask a serious question to you guys that seem to really dislike tucson? I can appreciate some teasing back and forth for sure, but what is it that people really hate on tucson for? Especially when you live in Phoenix..... what's better about where you live? I avoid Phoenix as much as possible and would rather live here any day, I haven't actually ever resided in Phoenix though so what's the deal? Again, serious question. I've toyed with the idea of moving out of tucson to Phoenix but everytime I come home from there it's a relief. So, valid points please and hopefully from people that have actually spent any time in both. Ok, go.....

I'm gonna call it the familiarity effect. People generally prefer what they're used to. I mean even inter-Phoenix metro, I'm gonna be less comfortable going to some place I don't know in Mesa since I'm not usually out that way.

I call Tucson "Diet Mexico" sometimes just as a joke, I have a long time buddy who lives down there, the aerospace museum down there is awesome, Mt. Lemmon is nice, had some post-breakup "friends" there too...

I will say that Tucson has a lot of surface street sprawl. Like, in Phoenix maybe you're ending up in the smack middle of Gilbert, equally inconvenient distance from 60 and 202 and 101, but most of the time you're pretty easily near a big pipeline that can get you somewhere else.
Tucson, not as much. Lots of surface streets with lights. So I'd be a bit reluctant to live out there myself.

I get the streets and lack of freeways, but it's literally like 18 miles from one side of town to the other. I live about as far from the freeway as possible and yea, sometimes getting across town is a bitch but my shop is right off the freeway and I make the drive almost daily. It's so nice to have options and take side streets whenever traffic is bad. Drives across town can be effortless if you know how to navigate. I guess I'm just old and hate freeways and congestion and a lack of escape routes.

Anybody have a planer I could try out? Im looking to shave down some 2" by 1/4" by 8 foot long wood trim and Id like to run a piece through a planer to see how well it will work before I buy one. Even the Harbor Freight one(which has pretty good reviews) is still $400. Ideally Id like to take it down to 1/8" thick but I dont know how well a planer will handle something only 2" wide that will also get pretty thin.

    Pics of said trim

You can put it between 2 sacrificial boards that are 4 inches wide ... when the two side boards are in the machine stop pushing them and push the middle 2 in wide. Then push the others without caring how they fare.

Just an idea, even if stupid ...

Streets in Tucson have always sucked. Although, I've been here since a lot of the roads where I live were dirt. I will say tucson has done a lot of road improvements in the last 5 or 6 years and things are getting better. The biggest problem is that it takes 5 yrs to do what Phoenix does in a matter of months. Tucson's got issues when it comes to growth and that's always been an issue with its governing body. But I like the slow growth. Keeps it country.

I dislike Tuscon because of the politics (see previous users comments), but I really like how much more of a small town feel it has. I rented an AirBNB in the Catalina Foothills at the bottom of Mt Lemon a couple years ago and loved it. It reminded me of Phoenix as a kid. I could definitely try living down there if my work allowed it.

Tucson reminds me a lot of Albuquerque. Except for shittier roads and lack of Blake's Lotaburger.

For me it is the streets mainly and getting around. And lack of being able to disappear into the woods and not see anyone. But my opinion doesnt matter really. I am not a fan of Phoenix either. I am just a grumpy old man. But one thing I do love for both is the access to good food that I dont get up here in the hills.
