VW hill? The mud would be frozen so we could ride over it and not through it..... @TacoTuesday603, hows the snow up there?

No snow at all but I would take a guess that VW is closed for mud season. They talk alot about mud season in this study from 2023 but they never define a timeframe. I can look more into it tomorrow

Mud season is typically early spring til June, but I thought class VIs were snowmobile fodder until then

A lot of the times it’s December. I’d say the majority. They only restrict vehicles over a certain weight for the whole period and that covers both winter and spring

I always just thought it was December onwards to keep the trails groomed-ish for snowmobiles and then nobody's allowed on March/April onwards

    The RI spot is open

Well. Let me rephrase. It's there.

Don't put it down.....its always a good time. Yes it is the playground out of the FB fanboys (N.E.Yotas) that think its the greatest thing since sliced bread, but it really kind of does have a lot of different levels of obstacles and its a good trail ride. Not to mention a good spot to air down and up. MA bell is too extreme for most people now and very short anyway. Most certainly good food places afterwards as well.

Yeah I’d be down for ma bell if people want to play around on stuff rather than just an up and back. Ri I could be convinced, I don’t think I did it this year

I could be convinced to put my skids back on early. RI spot is ok but something a little more difficult would be nice.
I agree with Jared on ma bell, most won’t make it anymore and it is a short run.

Jersey spot is always fun in the winter.. might be farther than some want to go.

Congrats to you! my 3rd and last is coming at the end of Feb. I could also be intrigued, but the last 2 times I went right before a birth I ended up in not so good situations putting the truck out of commission for a nerve-wracking amount of time...

Pine Barrens? Haven't been that way on...20 years?

I mean, if we're talking travel...
GWNF and Uwharrie are both worth the trip.

Not for this winter but we should set up a trip in vt. Some great trails over there that’s similar to 3 bears. Maybe a little harder

That's the kind of forward thinking we need around here.

If everyone who's been to RI has done the rocky hill, we can explore other trails and paths around the area. I know more stuff out there. I'll rack my brain and try to think of anything more complicated out there.

I mean, I'M in for Uwharrie.... I don't know that Ross would be allowed to pull of THAT level of trip :p
Also Kentucky Adventure Trail KAT - there's some awesome stuff out there.

Oh I think I know that one. Solid 20 minute ride.
I know some stuff up on the other side of bear brook from you, too. Snowmobile stuff though, and nothing much more than one ledge that a stock truck w/o armor can do without a hiccup.
We have all the stuff around Woodstock too. There's more trails to the south, I want to get back to those, as long as I can actually go out next time instead of being kipped up with pink eye, I can guide!
