No. The 5070 with DLSS 4 can, in some cases, show the same frame rate on a frame rate counter as the 4090 does without DLSS. However, DLSS 4 is basically frame generation on steroids with only one GPU rendered frame for every three AI guesstimated frames. nVidia is using software trickery and has been for a while. It's cheaper than actually making significantly faster cards. Even the 5090, in leaks, is only about 20% faster at raster than the 4090 which is pretty terrible given the increase in CUDA cores and memory bandwidth. It's all about the fake frames now.

I haven't read all the specs on the new cards, but that's what I was waiting for. I know the top tier gpu is like $2900. :bananadead:

Here was the latest leak of an official nVidia slide on 5090 performance, a few reviewers have hinted that their results match this. Disappointing.

I still have faint hope that AMD will drop the 9070XT at $399. If FSR 4 is as good as they say, it's now extremely similar to DLSS 3, and if their new RT cores are actually faster than even what nVidia has in the 4070 then maybe there's a hope. I mean, at least AMD gave their card the full fat 16 GB of VRAM.

nVidia is an AI company that also makes GPUs. They make something like 80% of their revenue now in the data center. When they design new cores, they design them for AI first. That's why nVidia is trying so hard to make people want software and AI frame generation and upscaling. Their cards are really good at that. They're not great improvements in raster performance, if improvements at all core on core, each generation anymore.

I almost went with a 7900xtx but now I'm curoius as to the new AMD cards.

I'd like something under 1200$ (canadian) with 16gb+ so we'll see.

    The 5080 will be 1600$ here. 5090 3000$ likely.

Damn currency, but at least my epipens are cheap lol

I'm hoping the 40 series cards will drop in price as a result.

Google Nest routers [all routers, bc the "points" (the ones with built in speakers) don't support wired backhaul]. This is actually what we've always done; we have 2 rooms in the house with gaming PCs, a mesh point/router in both of those room, and ethernet connecting PC to those points. I essentially added 2 points to our existing 3 points just to try and get wifi to the garage. One might as well just be a wifi extender, and the one in the garage is just to receive that extended signal and broadcast within the garage. It definitely helped that, and it hasn't hurt anything else within the rest of the house, aside from us gaming on PC's sometimes. I've basically just reverted back to 3-4 points, and when the time comes for hardwiring the entire house/garage, I won't really care how many points we do or don't have, so long as wifi is in the garage and the house can run on wired connection. Just gonna have to live with no wifi in the garage, or plugging in the extra point when I do need it out there, for the time being.

nVidia stopped 40 series production in October. There's not a lot of stock left, they'll lower the prices but not by much.

I have a 7900XTX. It's a solid card, especially for high frame rate 1440P at max settings. From everything that's been said, the 7900XTX will still beat the 9070XT in raster, but lose in ray tracing. I'm going to hold onto mine for at least this generation. I had a 4090 at launch but had way to many driver conflicts with my headphone software, so I ditched it while I could still sell it for what I paid. The AMD card has been solid.

I hated my Google Mesh, but that was three or so years ago so hopefully it's improved. I ended up going with a TPLink stand alone router with much better range and then added a single extra router of the same model to cover up the only area of the house without great reception. TPLink and a few others support throwing their normal routers into Mesh, and I find because they use larger antennas and better hardware that the results are much better, but YMMV.

I have a 3080 10gb and the only issue I have with it is vram with AAA titles, so far its been good enough except hogwarts and indiana jones.

I tend to skip generations so the new 5000 or 9000 gen is what ill be waiting for prices to drop on.

Okay, this is somewhat exciting. Leaks are showing the 9070 non-XT pulling 99 fps in COD 6 with no frame generation enabled and no FSR enabled. For perspective, that's nearly on par with 4090. Maybe AMD is being quiet because they actually do have a mid range winner and are going to drop a bomb when they release it.

Probably wanted to wait for Nvidia to drop their stuff so they can tailor the press releases against that instead of just their own stuff/last Gen.

Either way though...3rd party reviews will tell the truth

Who knows. I'm not getting my hopes up but it is interesting. The article has stayed up on a reputable website, not just VideoCardz, for a while now. If it was a complete fake I'd think AMD would have it taken down. I know Hardware Canucks and a few others places are losing their shit saying it must be fake but who knows.
