Yeah I like that vertical rise mechanism a lot actually, although 5ft bed with no extension would be much too short for me... and a lot of folks I'd think really. Their thing looks nice though

Ha. And makes the bed much better as livable space to hang out in. Tacoma is small enough for that as is.

I like his setup for what he does a lot, it makes sense in Alaska... where he is in that pic, yeah pass haha those roads are rough as shit and that a lot of weight and abuse for that old OBS

Yeah if I were to get one I'd go with that one, 6ft version. You're right, be tight on the 5ft, you'd have to sleep at a funky angle. Definitely like it more than the GFC.

hope he isn’t in harms way, that Palisades fire absolutely destroyed neighborhoods and businesses in quick order and still going. They’re finally able to utilize air support now that the winds have died down significantly

in related news, unsurprisingly the Kings have postponed their home game tonight…against the Flames of all teams lol

I've been dreaming about doing some sort of gfc/flippac shell build for years now
No design has ever made it out of a very early conceptual model though

He is 11 miles east of Palisades, 15 miles SW of Eaton. Suffice to say if it gets that far it'll be an unimaginable fire event. Even still he has done a little prep just in case.

I've been monitoring the air fight all morning. So many assets are up. But with the wind, I wonder how effective it is. Not sure how you battle such fires, in the woods you deploy hand crews and dozers cut fire lines. But you can't do that in the city. Brutal situation.

And ironic that it's the Flames that are in town....

They used the dozers in LA to push cars out of the road. Folks abandoned them in the road trying to escape but then the responders couldn't get in.

Where's the kill dozer when you need it?

Its completely useless for any dimensional decisions, but I like it to see the proportions and what it might actually look like in the end

I just plotted the frame mounting points on my model and the back wall of the cab as well as reference geometry for where the back bumper ends and the tailgate ends so I have some ideas of overall length. Easier to design without the rest of the truck present in my case.
