Mine does sound deeper to me on start up, not a drone sound, and no drone when driving. Temps here have been below zero, mostly in the teens.

    Ive got one coming....
Even though I had a $40 dump made by a local exhaust shop...
Couldn't pass up the price on the sxth, its sooo much prettier...o_O
Ide be shocked if it changes anything compared to what I have on there now.
That being said, who knows, as the sxth does have a larger diameter pipe.....

These trucks could really use a nice aftermarket muffler swap.
Have no idea what would sound good, back in the day everything got flowmasters...
Dont need to go all out with these expensive cat back systems, pointless...

But not sure I want to here a raspy / drone exhaust sound everywhere I go at this point in my life...
That being said, neighbor has a really loud new chevy truck that sounds bad-ass when he blows by my place...:burnrubber:

That annoying droning sound on mine just started happening a day or 2 ago.

No. Upon starting , it idles around 1400 1500 rpms so it drones for like 3 seconds, then it is the normal sound for about 3 or 4 seconds. It repeats this cycle until about 2 minutes when idle drops to about 1000 rpms and it stops droning. It just started happening and it suddenly got cold here in texas so I figured maybe the weather had something do with it. Also of course i am in the garage so it is amplified a little bit, but it didn't do it before.

Oh yeah, It’s definitely louder in the garage. I generally don’t let mine run in the garage any longer than it takes to back out. Still far quieter than my Tundra with the DirtyDeeds 8in :burnrubber:

Had to install a resonator on it due to the drone at 1750-2100 rpm’s. It would drive me bonkers on the hiway!

probably just cuz cold weather is putting the rpm in a higher zone longer per the computers request, in the drone zone....
It will chill-out once it warms back up & you dont have your idle kicked-up at start-up...

This is probably the best priced option, even at $99.

The Toyota part (PT226-35241-AA) is $75 through the configurator, but $150 retail ($113 at Olathe Parts). It's bent instead of welded.

The NYTOP LINK, although titanium, is kind of ridiculous at $249 (site shows discount price of $199).

I've had mine on for a couple weeks now, and yeah I wouldn't call it louder but definite change in sound, you can hear it below like 35-40mph

Yeah, I saw that a while back. That's an even better deal, but $99 still ain't bad.

Folks probably ought to go the extra distance and get the factory one, so they don't void their vehicle warranty.

    *ducking*

love the look of these exhaust dump mods, but is there any potential issues with the fumes exiting directly under the truck? It looks like soot could build up on the suspension components but I suppose that's only an issue if your idling a lot

Nothing really to be concerned with,
Folks have been using dumps for ages, 60-70's, hot rods, etc....
Theres plenty of wind at a stop that flows through the bottom of your truck to move any accumulating exhaust fumes...
Gas turbo motors burn clean, soot isn't going to build-up & besides, its mostly shooting down...
Vs out the side of your truck on a factory config.

if its bad i should be dead by now. my first car had 36in long glass packs on the end of the headers, dumped under the back seat could feel them at start up bark under the thing.
several trucks later, several cars some even driven with just open headers.

currently have this kind of tucked exhaust on my 09 Tacoma all tucked up, and my wheeling toy was chopped just to the side of the driveline up under.

Trailhunter comes from the factory with one… I’ve haven’t caught a wiff of fumes.

Also better to have a little soot under the bed than on your paint.

Any of you guys ever thought of getting a Carven 2.5 and replacing the stock muffler with that?

Thinking of that alongside with these SXTH sense axle dump.

Those sound good too. Keith definitely makes some good exhaust.

I ran the Carven 2.5 muffler on my Tundra so I’m just wondering if anyone has done it yet since it’s the same ID. Or probably because every one does not want to void their warranty.

I’d assume Carven with SXTH axle dump would be real nice.

The long exhaust IMHO looks janky. Hidden away would look a lot more clean.

That's all it needs, I commented a flow master, but same deal along with the axle dump...
The cat back is just a waste of money....

Tossing a muffler on there isn't going to void your warranty....
At least not on a ford product, speaking as an experienced engine tech....
Its the tuners & the power-adders that youre going to get into a pickle with...
