looking for a good first compound bow

    ill have to check out those stores. theres a store in Santa Rosa called Backroom Saddlery and Archeryand also one in Cotati called Montana Hawk Inc. anyone had any experiences with these shops?

    might be worth a visit. they sell bowtech and ELITE. plus PSE. if i could get another bow, i am pretty damn sure, i would get an ELITE HUNTER. it seems like a fuking damn good bow. mom and pop shop.

    Regarding Ebay and other sites (archerytalk classifieds for example) there can be lots of good deals to be had but you have to know what you're looking for. If you haven't shot one, you don't know if its right for you. Some people drop a grand or more every year on a new bow. They sell their old ones to feed the habit and many of them are in great shape. With the exception of elite archrey, most warranties are for original owners only. Elite has a transferrable warranty. I've never had to bring a bow in for warranty work but you never know. Worse comes to worse if you need a new part you've got to have a dealer order it for you for whatever the cost is.

    ya that would be my main concern is that i really dont know what im looking for. i mean ive done my reading about the cams, IBO/AMO, reflex/deflex and all the other parts and terms that go along with it but i still dont have much experience with them

    Yup. Lots of good info on AT. If you put the egos and bickering aside you can get some great info from that site. Again, you can read all you want but unless you try it for yourself you'll never know for sure its the bow for you...

    i have a brand new reflex excursion that i'm looking to sell. i shot it only several times at an indoor archery range and realized that archery isn't for me.
