I bought 5 AT tires to replace the street tires on the Tacoma. Also replacing spare...low and behold the spare is 17".
So now I am on the hunt for an 18" wheel to serve as a spare. I need a cheap steel wheel, nothing fancy.
I have looked all over the internet and found a $120 wheel on ebay. A takeoff would be better, but have a feeling people will think they have gold.
    Any ideas?

I believe I did the research on this in the past and found that the tundra spare is 18” with close enough rim dimensions to work. Those are 18” because they have to clear the brakes.

Same bolt pattern and hub bore so should be fine. Slight width and offset differences if I remember right, but should be fine for a spare.

Since its not made for a 5 tire rotation, it really is just an emergency spare.

My guess is the tire may be the same overall dia, but slimmer, to tuck up under better. And both the tire and wheel are a couple bucks cheaper to Toyota, x units sold, meaning real $

New tires are 275/70. No idea the spare tire size is, just it is a 17" wheel. Original tires are 265/65.
And to Billy, I'll look for a Tundra spare wheel as well. Thanks for that info

Cuz you might find the E's ride like shit, ridged sidewall & really not required on these light mini trucks....
That's the issue with 18" wheels, slim pickings when it comes to options & tires are extra costly compared to 17's...
I dint want to due to cost, but ditched the 18's on my sport...

I have no problem with the E load tires. Ride is fine by me. I had load E on my previous 4Runner as well.

I spend a lot of time in west Texas on some land with dirt/gravel and no roads. I like having the stronger side walls for rocks and nasty mesquite thorns!

I don't have the TRD Sport, but SE Toyota Distributors put 18" wheels with 265/60 Nitto Nomad Grapplers on them. Nice rims, nice tires. When I wear them out and look for new ones, I may find that switching to 17" rims will be cost effective. For now, I'm gonna run what I've already paid for but this thread has me thinking I may want to hunt up a used Tundra rim and throw a cheap tire on it for a spare. I mean, how far can you ride on a mismatched spare? Also, I tow a camper thousands of miles at a time. I'm thinking a like spare would be better in that case.

Yeah, one of the trucks I was looking at had those tires as well. Nitto make a good tire.
I like the rims on the truck, 18" and all! So, I do not want to throw down more money on rims, especially with vendors thinking they are gold these days. Not necessary in my book.
