The talk about the TRD lift kit had me wondering about the truck's off road prowess. I can't recall seeing any 4Gs doing much off roading. Outside of vendor R&D, and the few media outlests who activated 4wd off pavement.

I know if you have a 4G it's still very new and I wouldn't bee racing to drive it through the mud.

There is a sweet curb at the mall I could probably do and take some photos for you. That's is about as hard-core as us 4gs pavement princes can do!!

Wasn't there someone who did black bear at Telluride on here?

Nothing crazy but I was able to get my SR5 on some fire service roads that were way more sketchy than anticipated. Now I’m just holding off until I get some better tires. Truck did well and would’ve done better if it wasn’t for the stock tires

I find it better than the third-generation's system–at least the MTS is quieter.[IMG]

More than I need but still not enough.
I’ve done a little off roading up in the mountains and the truck was way more capable than I anticipated. Nothing too crazy but I’ll push it a little more once the snow is gone.

I’m impressed with the off road capability! Put it all to use several times, crawl/dac, locker, and SDM. Gobs of low end TQ. Everything is easily accessible, never understood why the previous gen had it above the RV mirror?

    Context?

While not an off road motoring hobbyist, I am a MTB trail builder and ski area crew getting off road and also doing some work tasks like drag, winch, tow and move materials off road. I consider the stock TRD OR model very capable and would no way want to compromise its general manners with a lift kit now 1/2 a year into using it for more work and off road than I bet many do. I've cleared things associates with 4x4s have not.
