I've seen that before, I think you are correct, more than a few trucks had the rear bumper as an option and the dealer offered their own. Toyota was one of them that had an optional rear bumper.

Around here in Ohio I have seen them on occasions on used vehicles, but I don’t recall ever seeing them on any new vehicles no matter who the manufacturer was

Nice rig. You removed the "chin strap"and I can see it on the pic. Question, how did you end up with an air dam on an Off-Road?

That’s because back then , no one used there truck like a personal vehicle . They used a truck , to do mostly truck things. One of my first jobs , working construction, we went to the shop , parked our daily driver car . Jumped in the truck fully loaded and used it like a truck .
    No AC
    No power windows
No interior rug ( all rubber floor Mat)
3 speed manual on the column
    No rear defroster
    Am radio
    That mostly how trucks were

Besides KBB, where can you get multiple used car price quotes without needing to give name/email/etc.?
Google is broken for this question. It gives answers all related to car insurance quotes, even though I did not put anything about insurance in my question.

That is an exact description of my first truck, but never had stamped bumper. Maybe it was not happening around here in upstate NY

Yep, mine didn't come with one. Wonder why some OR's have them. Could be a production mishap. Saw another picture with the air dam on the rig and thought someone just added the OR's fenders flares. Not a good idea on an off-roader....

more pics after removing the chin strap. $57,000 out the door. I think that’s a good deal. $57k includes all taxes fees and etc.

Gotta love Southeast Toyota. Charging you for oil changes that are included with every new Toyota.

I completely agree with your statement here. More data = more conclusive evidence = more informed opinion. Internet postings are far too often based on poorly supported opinions presented as "fact." Bottom line is, buy the truck you want after doing quality research online. This means you have to dig for the datasets that people are using to form their opinions/choices. Can be challenging of course, but increases your confidence intervals and in the long run, can save you time/money/effort.
