    Nah.
I don't need to shine for deer.
Only looking to see them a little clearer.

I overheard some of the conversations about it.
    Read a little on here.
Something about manipulating a bulb doesn't sound right.

The recent butter conversation affected my choice of breakfast today. :hungry:

You just clip a little plastic tab. I've done it, but I went back to higher output H11's and I'm fine with it.

Went to FF for the water jug.
It wasn't in the auto dept. but I saw lightbulbs....look a squirrel.

They were out of Sylvania H11 Silverstar 2 packs so I grabbed the Silverstar Ultra.

I think I have Sylvanias in mine. I actually need to adjust mine right now. They've never been right since the deer last fall.

I just use Form Lighting direct replacement light housing for increased output, sharper cutoff, and a color temp that is both clearer and less fatiguing to the eye

Talked with my mechanic buddy this morning. Yanmar brings in a v8 Toyota diesel for marine applications. Won’t be any easy conversion but food for thought rather than a LS…

    appealing but also…
    LS pros:
    Parts available basically everywhere
    Easy tune-ability
    Massive aftermarket support
    Uh-merican POWAHHH

jk on the last one but I’m just saying…if you’re gonna drop 12k on 2 more cylinders I want to double my HP and torque

I was using Silverstars until I switched to the H9s almost 3 years ago. I got tired of replacing the Silverstars almost yearly. Ridiculous for what you pay for them.

    Almost yearly?
That's crazy considering the ones I replaced were probably originals.

The higher output bulbs don't last as long. I'm probably on my 5th set of bulbs in the 4Runner.

The Silverstars actually went about 14 months, the PIAAs before that only lasted about 11 months (@ $35 a pair, around 10 years ago). The coating on them makes them run hot, which shortens the life.

I got some Osram high beams in 2019 that are still hanging on, shockingly. Nightbreaker Unlimited. They took awhile to get, as they had to ship from like Slovakia or something.

Fishing was pretty decent today! Pulled a few bass this size, several Northern and a bunch of tiny (yearling?) bluegill, perch and one small crappie. Plenty of action and not too cold, but still looking for a spot to get some panfish to actually take home and fry up.

Nice! The only eater bluegills I've ever caught through the ice were off a 25' hump in 30 FOW. But, every lake is different.

I'm dropping 12k for +2 and diesel... 18mpg and clouds of black soot. Just kidding... This is a long term pipe dream. Ls is the logical choice, but weird is so cool!
