Ive never used them but Silver City Auto Body in Carson is recommended a lot on the Reno cars and coffee page.

I worked in a body shop for almost a decade. Unfortunately, just painting a new fender is not going to match, no matter how good the shop is. Anytime a new panel is painted, best practice is to blend into the panels next to them. This means that they'd want to blend the new color into the door, hood etc. Straight butting new color next to old is a near guarantee to not matching.

Secondly, the first gen white color is a single stage style paint. This style is also hard to match since you don't get to tint the clear coat like you would on other colors.

That said, not many shops are going to give any guarantees on color matching without blending. If they do take on the work, it's almost never going to match very well.

Sorry if this isn't the news you wanted.

That's a really good point, I had not thought of that—figured that if they had the original fender to work with they could just replicate that but it sounds like there's no way to do that without blending adjacent areas.

Will check out Silver City Auto Body as well and see what they have to say.

    Thanks!

Anyone have suggestion for place to get, or to avoid, getting Lasik at? Eyes haven’t changed for a handful of years now. Tired of contacts..

Both my wife and I had our IOLS done here, and our neighbor went a year later. Great service. We weren't eligible for LASIK. They don't charge for the evaluation.

100% Nevada Eye Consultants. I know like 10 people that all have had their eyes done, all recommend, myself included. I had mine done in 2016 and it's the best money I've ever spent on anything in my life.

Every time I saw this truck when working it made me want to spend unreasonable amounts of money I don’t have on a 3 link.

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.

If you end up joining the air force you can prob have it done for free. When I was in the army, I think it was anyone over 21 could have it done. Might be something worth looking into

Good point. Gonna go to recruiter Monday. Getting Lasik also would help my pipe dream of wanting to fly lol. Chances I can get into OTS without a specialized degree or certifications for cyber/comp sci sounds pretty damn slim unfortunately.

We always used Auto and Truck Electric to rebuild our stuff. They are pretty good.

Even if Dr. McCoy from the Enterprise used a super-modern device and gave me perfect eyes ... NO ONE is dumb enough to put me in charge of a multi-million $$ plane.

If I'm not mistaken a "degree" is what qualifies you for OCS. I'm not sure what the requirements are for Aviation. Should be able to find it online.
