They’re pretty comparable on low beams with better high beams. Then there’s the SC drivers, which bumps them to better low beams than stock LEDs and even more intense high beams.

This rating system uses a variety of measurements to achieve a final summarized score. More info on the testing process: https://www.morimotohid.com/multipoint

Lucky!!! I placed an order on a set but they’re back ordered. Hoping I can get away with installing these bad boys without removing the assemblies!! What’re you waiting for, throw em in and let’s get some pics!

Not sure if this helps. Paired with diode dynamics MAX fogs with the Fleece all lights on module to run fogs with high beams.

Ha yeah it'll have to wait till Monday for install. They get mounted on the underside of assemblies so they'll have to come out. And that's not exactly fun to do with these.

    White fogs?

I'd say they're about the same as my setup. (oem leds, ss3 max fogs and fleece all lights on module.) I can't really tell if they're brighter, but they don't appear any less bright than the oem leds. If anything, they seem to have a wider spread. The cutoff looks clean too.

There’s a massive void underneath the assemblies where the fog lights sit….i was hoping to be able to squeeze myself in there to swap out the supercharger drivers when mine arrives lol

Probably a dumb question but did someone already try tapping the DRL fuse?

Hm yeah I'll have to look when I do it. Just got this truck in August and was my first time tearing the front end apart so didn't really get a good look around as I was in a semi hurry state to get the morimotos in. Ha.

It was a dumb question… for now I think I’ll land my switch panel on the efi since no lights minutes the panel backlight will come on when the truck is off and goes through it’s efi checks at night.

Decided to take some output shots tonight if anyone wants to see. Not professional photos or anything, just snapped them on my phone real quick after work.. Ya'll were asking for more output and cutoffs, fogs, as well as drl brightness so there ya go.
20 photos total in this Flickr album
    To clarify setup;
    -Morimoto xbEvo (standard drivers)
-Diode Dynamics SS3 'max' fog lights (white)
(In the album I show drl's dimmed vs full brightness output on wall as well)

Photos below are low beam and amber drls only

Oh damn, I know brightness at-source can be intensified by photos, but those look nice and bright even from the sides. I think you might've sold me! I'll definitely miss the amber cast around the meso S2's with the led sticks... but this is really tempting.

So the drivers are totally accessible! Just need to peel back the fender liner. I have a viper cut so mine is modded and I can see it much easier

DRL fuse for whatever reason is a full time 12v, so they'd never turn off, even with the truck off. INJ one is only ignition on and what they recommend. What you can do is what I did, I tapped the DRL t tap harness I've got for grill lights, backlights, etc, and ran that into the fuse tap wire on the Evos. Now functions like OEM.

I ended up finding a dual load fuse tap that fits and was able to tap the injector fuse and also retain the switch panel on the same location.

where is the drl wire that needs to be tapped?

OK first off, I am not bashing morimoto. I've bought their products before.
However, after reading the posts in this thread I am going to wait until the majority of the bugs are worked out on these new lights before I blow that kind of money on them.
From what I've read, they don't seem To be as "plug and play " as they say.
I know that most companies now let the customers do the product testing for them. So I'll just wait a bit longer because I really like them.

Well, really the only issue with these, was the fuse tap location. Which they have since addressed and updated. The other issues aren't really issues, just those of us wanting to, "customize", i guess, how they operate outside of how they were designed. They ARE fully plug and play. And work exactly how they are supposed to. I had them plugged in and fully installed without any hiccups in fitment or operation.. We just wanted a way to change how they function to personalize them. No, they don't operate EXACTLY like oem functions do on the stalk the way they are, but you can wire them that way if you want (via the fuse tap being tapped into whatever source you want depending if you want oem stalk functions or not) and that's what we were trying to figure out...

It's unlikely they will update/change/add anything because a few of us want it to operate differently than how it's designed.
Sorry, I didn't want that to come out like I'm bashing your statement, but there's really no other way to say it. Ha. I just wanted to throw that out there because yeah, some of us tend to nit-pick things on products when they aren't designed/operate the way each of us would prefer with our own personal preferences.

There aren’t any bugs being discussed. They plug and play and work exactly as designed. These guys are customizing the setup, not fixing any issues.

We designed them to be compatible across all trim levels of Tacomas with the included adapters—it’s just the fuse tap for the DRL / welcome sequence that’s a point of contention.

I just installed these and while I love the way they look and am happy with the brightness, im disappointed by the cutoff. There is a low spot that lands right in the oncoming lane from the driver side headlight, which seems to be caused by the projector housing design. I reached out to Morimoto to see if this was normal but looking at the other pictures and videos on here it seems to be the way it is. I tried adjusting them and it didnt seem to help much. Perhaps I'm just picky but for $1500 I would expect a nice clean projection. It's all I can focus on when I'm driving at night. Both pictures are pointed more downhill to better show what I'm seeing.

The dip cutoff is deliberate. It gives you the most possible distance and intensity in your lane without blinding oncoming drivers. It’s shown in the output pictures in the listings and at the top of this page. Yoshi will be able to elaborate more on why this design is ideal, not a disadvantage.

Caesar also talks about this dip around 18:50 in his review: https://youtu.be/aE9fumVij4M?si=GSL9WV8s_0zBeuwT

My 2021 Corolla has it with the stock Koito projectors too—which are among the best-performing single optic projectors currently available.
