I really started this thread because I wanted to learn more about the specs of the turbo.

obviously if you modify your vehicle you take responsibility for your own actions.

You should post in threads with relevant info instead just injecting your opinion onto others.

BTW thanks for calling me young. I appreciate that.

many people enjoy modifying their cars, and accept those risks. I don’t need a 1400hp car, but I have one and understand and can pay for the risks associated.

Let people have their fun instead of being mad that they do.

I come from a Suby performance background. I had an 04 STi.
The last time I dyno'd the car I got 459 ftlb of torque (100 octane map) and I had only bolt ons and good tuning. I did upgrade my turbo to a GT30r but otherwise it was intercooler, downpipe, exhaust, etc. And this was on the tech of 2008-10. I did feel like the tune and fuel were the biggest keys at the time. Admittedly I didn't take the time to measure power with each mod as I went.

I'm hopeful that especially with the hybrid assist to turn my Trailhunter into an F1 overlander lol

I mean we all know we get like 90 up from just a K&N

I am really enjoying this truck. It's my first Tacoma, I just started offroading and learning how it differs from track days and autocross. I love this truck so far but it is always fun to modify and mess around with your cars and create something with your own creativity and tastes.
I will have fun seeing how much more power I can get without significantly worrying about reliability. For me it's just fun playing around and learning.
So far I haven't found anything at all to mod this motor at all, not even a tune. LoL

I too come from the Suby community. I miss my Rex but I love this truck. I probably will never modify my truck. My planned mods are a bed mat and a tailgate pad for my bike.

You may be right, but I won't be touching the engine & risking big $$,$$$ so I can climb a rock quicker, go faster....
You guys weren't replacing cylinder heads & cams on the previous gen....
So now that you think theres a quick turbo mod, you have to go faster, have to have it...

The torque numbers compared to the 3.5, especially in the context of their RPM, are shockingly improved

    Just giving my 2 cents.
you can bash me, I can bash you, all day long...
These vehicles are already tuned on the jagged edge from the factory & have seen many many failures from guys thinking they need more, had to have more....
Seen many "competent" shops programing custom tunes & few years down the road, they have a failure direct cause due to the tune, internal cylinder / piston failure...
& cried & whined when they didnt have the $10k-$15k to replace their modern engine...
Just dont see the point to make a truck faster...
If it was a mustang or a vehicle that was designed to perform & handle well & you understand the risk, so be it....
Like dropping an LS motor in a Volkswagen Beetle, what's the point...

Just pointing out the risk f failure, & its not a small risk....
Guys are already suspecting that this engine won't last as long as the lethargic previous gen due to more stress / pressures from at turbo...
& you want to add more to it.....
more horse power, & driving it like you stole it all the time, also adds stress to timing chain components, plastic timing guides / pads, etc...
    but hey, have fun...
Im all about you spending money on what you think you have to have...
    I know I did & am...

Just pointing out the risk & from my bedroom window, it's not worth the risk.

You don’t actually know how on the “ragged edge” the t24 is

There’s no point to any of it. Like I said, I don’t need a 1400hp car. I do it because it’s fun. Some people find modding their Tacomas fun. None of us *need* these trucks. We spend money to find joy.

you didn’t point out risk that people don’t know exists. You told people not to mod it like you’re their dad.

yeah but nobody cares what Scotty kilmer says

it’s not worth it to you.

    STOCK
    They already have.......;)
    @JustDSM

Here is the OTT stock vs Beta Tune.
Look at the Torque curve on the Beat Tune.
Impressive how it stays flat compared to the stock tune.
More torque and much longer in the RPM range. NICE.[IMG]

The T24A-FTS is nowhere near “stressed” in factory form. It eats up everything we’ve thrown at it. It produces amazing response and torque for days when tuned. In fact, here's a full RPM sweep from 2K RPM compared to a TUNED 5.7L Tundra:

    4G Tuned VS 5.7L Tundra Tuned.png
RED: 2015 Toyota Tundra 5.7L Tuned on 91 Octane (100% Stock otherwise)
BLUE: 2024 Toyota Tacoma 2.4L-T Tuned on 91 Octane (100% Stock otherwise)

I'm incredibly excited to get this to market.

Add a boost controller to it for a few extra pounds and that truck will rip. Will be cool when OTT starts tuning these trucks.
