I do, but I'm pretty sure I'm the executor. I know I'll take death hard. I do every time. I expect most of my siblings will as well. I forsee the need to hire @StayinStock so I'd like to reserve his services in advance. :anonymous:

Everyone in my Immediate family has been cremated. My younger Brother, My Mother, My Dad, and My Twin Sister. She died from Being eaten up with "Cancer". All of their ashes have been dumped in Lake Livingston in Texas. I've told my two daughters No Obituary, No funeral Service, just have me cremated and flush me down the toilet. I won't be there anymore.

    My brother is the executor
I have zero interest in this position but I will 100% do the leg work and sort it all out so he just has to agree/consent/whatever to the cremation stuff because I know he won't be in the best mind to do so

If this isn't Photo Shopped, I'd love to know what year this was. Maybe late 80's early 90's. Maybe a motor cycle collector can tells us what year that honda is.

    Story Time with Gritto

My Dad died of brain cancer.
Mom said he took one too many knocks to his noggin :p

He was a B-24 pilot in the 5th Air Force, SWPA (Southwest Pacific Area).
Got a bad concussion from some Japanese flak that went off a little too close and gave the bomber a helluva jolt.
Lotsa things in the cockpit to bang your head on in a WW2 military plane.

The navigator, Tarkington, told my Mom this story at a reunion, many years later.
They were on a dawn raid on Truk, as they did from time to time to keep the Japanese there tamped down.
Most times, the Japanese would scramble a few Zekes (Zeros), but the B-24s would get the hell outta there and would get clean away.
    Except this time.
One Zeke finally caught up after a long tail chase and only did so because he was already airborne before the raid.
Pedro, the tail gunner, shot him down.

    Pedro: "Got him!"
Dad: "Did you see a chute?
Pedro "Yeah he got out Sir"
Dad: "Any more Zekes following us?
    Pedro: "No, Cap"

So Dad made a turn and said "Target practice"
His brand new copilot was startled.
Dad said "They do it to us and anyway, we're hundreds of miles out from Truk and sharks are down there"
His former copilot had just got his own plane (cuz heavy casualties), but crashed with a full bomb load on takeoff... no survivors.

Dad came home and took over the family farm, but remained in the Air Force Reserve.
He got called back during the Korean War to fly a C-119 (Flying Boxcar).
Served stateside, mostly dropping Airborne troopers during their training.

I was there when a dairy cow kicked him... hard.
(Holsteins are pretty belligerent critters, even the cows, but the bulls are something else.)
Eye socket fractured with one eye protruding partway out of its socket, blood everywhere.
He got up and brained that cow right between the eyes with a baseball bat.
Knocked her out and she went down like a sack of taters
Milking was just about done, so they finished that and Mom drove him to the hospital.
They cleaned him up at the hospital, pushed his eye back in, bandaged him up and sent him home.

Different times and a tougher sort of people.

    Eventually we left the farm.
Mom wasn't raised to that life (she grew up in Birmingham, AL) and couldn't take it any more.
Dad took a job as an inspector with the PA Dept of Ag.
Totaled a couple state cars and banged his head some more :p

Anyway, Mom insisted he receive the military honors due him.
He retired a Lieutenant Colonel, Air Force.
Honor guard from the American Legion post fired a salute.
Mom received the flag and the blank cartridges (I still have them).

    No burial, he was cremated.
My Mom died basically of old age at 94, in 2017.
    She was cremated as well.

My sister (Captain, Air force retired) said she was going to get the urns deposited in the Columbarium at Arlington.
    Hasn't happened yet.
I still have both urns :notsure:

You hungry! Party planning is 5# per. I’ll agree in most part. I hate the politics, love the friendliness, the food and culture are insane, but gone are the days of a good fight. Now it’s all about bravado and personal interpretation and first option is guns. You insulted/disrespected me with living. Most kids don’t see themselves living past 18. It’s really sad. I went out into the world and came back for Mardi Gras. I was richer, but miserable. My friends were making it, or unemployed, but happy. I went back and packed up and moved home. Things are different now with Cajun stuff being available almost everywhere, and the “crowds”. I’d be happy to be more secluded, but close enough for and hour or two civilization run. I loved Asheville and Tennessee as a kid. I know better than to GA/FL.

I’m thinking shopped. I see no helmet and those were mandatory back then.

Look at the state you’re in or the one they were, or preferred. You’ll need his DD-14 (was used for his honors), but they can be buried together. Arlington honors is difficult nowadays.
