So much more room with the 8 circuit! I put my 12 circuit there and boy is it a tight fit.

Got some new tires no so long ago. Went with Falken Wildpeaks AT4w in 265/75r16. Stuck with the 32s for the time being. Cost effective, guaranteed fit, simple. May still go to a 33in skinny in the future. Will likely space these rims out or get new rims with a 0 offset for a little better stance on the factory tire size.

Also added some Tufskinz mud flaps. The factory fronts had been ripped off and a OEM set was more than I wanted to spend. Despite not coming with instructions, these weren't difficult to figure out. I'm glad I got 4wd on all four, I feel like the fronts would've gone unnoticed if I hadn't.

Finally got around to installing my @SpikerEng ultimate hood struts. Definitely a game changer.

I need to install mine. The hood bracket has me a little confused, there isn't a flat edge on the hood.

It's not too bad of an install. I lined mine up right along the seam.

Ok, that definitely helps. Appreciate it. Did you have to do anything with the seam sealer on the fender?

Very minimal. Just used a razor blade scraper I picked up from Harbor Freight. Did the job pretty good, imo.

Fixed my 4wd drive today. In the fall i swapped to a FJ manual transfer case, but got lazy and didnt move the fork in the front diff actuator. Thinking I had at least 3wd, winter and snow came, and turns out I didnt.

So today, I pulled my skid, and was ready to pull the actuator and manually move the fork and collar over, but my friend suggested we try to jump the pins in the actuator. Turns out his idea worked, although I have no idea which pins we jumped. All I needed to know was that the fork moved.

I took us longer to get the truck on the lift than to jump the pins  Im just glad when I shift to 4H or 4L and my front wheels engage. Glamor shot of the shifters too

Tacked in some stuff, painted some stuff, massaged the electrical harness, started on some 6an/8an lines for the new aluminum windshield reservoir, power steering reservoir and sc reservoir. I'm at a loss at how.many hours I really have spent.20250112_175517.jpg 20250112_154818.jpg

Scored a small black box with a purple wire that my old homelink mirror uses to talk to my yellow wire garage door opener it has so the truck can get in it's garage spot again without having a loose opener somewhere in the truck that does homelink 2.0. Seems my gentex 341 mirror doesn't speak 2.0 so it required a translator to remain relevant. Was going nuts for a minute trying to figure out why the mirror wouldn't program up and operate opener at new house. The $30 repeater plugs into wall in garage and has handheld remote to get your mirror talking to repeater. Repeater sends 2.0 signal to opener and works the door. So if you have homelink that won't work with newer opener this is whatcha need. what I found during this is the wire color in opener is key....if it has purple wire then it is older homelink and if it has yellow wire it is newer homelink. had no way to tst if 2.0 will work 1.0 openers but most likely should be backward compatible.

Replaced one of my lower ball joints which was long overdue. It had been squeaking/creaking loudly for the past month over ever bump or turn of the wheel. Once I had it out I peeled back the boot and found a very crusty rusty dry joint, and also had a tiny bit of play. Also rebuilt my driveshaft with a new Spicer carrier bearing and u joints, kept the old two as emergency spares since they were still in good shape. Maintenance weekend wasn't as fun as skiing but at least I got caught up on stuff.

Okay! My used camper shell’s ceiling carpet had a mildew smell so I put six boxes of baking soda in the truck bed. Left the slider windows open overnight and much to my surprise the smell was gone.
Followed up with a Grants Steamer from HarborFreight and I’m very happy this worked perfectly.
