1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

That scenario reminds me of the ol' crabs in a bucket fable.

 

I knocked this all out before midnight yesterday which is fast for me. Not sure what I’ll do with the Koyorad. I also have a manual transmission OEM Harrison radiator in my attic.

I might go ahead and regear the truck over this upcoming 3 day weekend I have. It’ll be a harrop rear and Truetrac front.

 

Clean engine bay!

What all got done?

 

When I was younger I washed/waxed this truck 2-3 times a month and cleaned the engine bay twice a year

Transmission drain and fill, adjusted the bracket for my auxiliary transmission cooler external thermostat, rerouted/added trans lines to the radiator so the ATF warms up with the radiator then goes to the aux cooler, swapped from a Koyorad MT radiator to this CSF with a beefy internal transmission cooler, and of course a coolant drain and fill. Didn’t have to remove the ARB which was a huge relief. The winch makes that a much bigger pain now.

Ideally the transmission won’t have cooling issues anymore. Deleting the transmission trans cooler with that Koyorad in 2021 was a bad move.

What’re the dimensions on that Harrison? Is it in good condition and Would you consider parting with it?

 

I witnessed the local club the other day when I was downtown. Our city visitor center is setup perfectly for it and they made it look pretty fun lol. Maybe not around the ponds.

 

Not sure. My supervisor's son wrecked his 99 and it was still new in box for it. It would've been whatever a V6/R150F truck came with before all the Harrison radiators were discontinued.

I can check whenever I get back up in the attic to store this Koyorad away. If I didn't have to move two trucks to get up there I'd check right now.

@04Pre_Runner Also reminds me my truck is still on the OG radiator. Which is equally impressive and not so good.

 

I've yet to see one in person. They're impressive animals. Cool you have a local spot like that.

 

I think it was a mother and daughter so I gave them a wide berth. Apparently they can be nasty if you corner them.

 

Yeah I've see videos of them being protective. Not something I'd wanna mess with.

 

Smart move. I’ve come across my fair share of moose in the back country and have done nothing but cower in shame lol
