If nothing else running out of gas gave you important information. A lot of factors play into range. With your proximity to the current fires, air quality might have played a part. Something to keep in mind for the future.

You using the regular Road 6 or the Road 6 GT? Super tenere is a pretty heavy bike no?

So I’m finishing up the last of that mandated traffic school for my ticket

we haven’t discussed traffic once. Just how to manage emotions/anger, nutrition, sleep, and how to find resources to help with mental health

Idk what the intended purpose is but so far the highlight is one guy doubling down on speeding when asked how he will be more responsible, saying 65 isn’t realistic but he will keep it to 80 instead of 90-95 lol

This is true, though my max mileage was 222 miles using only 5.1 gallons, while I ran out of gas at 195 miles yesterday using over 5.55 gallons. I think I should go 180 miles max to at least not kill my fuel pump.

I've been using just the regular Road 6. The GT does not come in Super Tenere sizes.

Got out on a ride today down the coast, mainly to run the RC crawler, but also to see where I could get to with all the shit show.

Man the show of force in and around any of the fires is NUTS. National guard and sheriff's road blocks everywhere..... Where was this response n help for Appalachia? Blue just helping blue it seems.... Sad. #LaSmartCity2028 *rollseyes*

    #CALogic

Zero issues with my regular road 5 on my tenere. GT is for like 6+hundred pound bikes no? Tenere is juuuuuuust below that haha.

But +1. Definitely one of the drawbacks to the super tenere is the awkward non standard tire sizes.

Interested to see when he gets across to the other continents for the trip. Also wild to use the KLX300 on the highway prolonged to me - my SM barely keeps 110 kph / 68 mph on flats, and I'm small (5'11" 175 lbs). Love some of the areas he's getting into "locally", but no way I'm doing the odd highway trip from where I'm at to get to them.

I had no idea they made a high performance model, huh. Also bummer they don't have tracks, of everything missing I feel like that'd be the closest to impossible to track down. (pun intended)

I didn't feel the 3k asking price was awful. More than I would pay TBH but for someone looking to get on a nice unusual vintage bike a reasonable entry cost.

Show usually has a lot of vintage dirt stuff. Vendors offering parts for Ossa, Hodaka, Penton, Bultaco. John Penton has actually been attending for years and signing autographs. Former coworker from my dealership days is the US rep for Ikon Suspension so he stays with me the night before to save on a hotel and we can catch up. He gets me in for free which is nice.

Several years ago when I was looking into buying one I learned about the high performance variant. Different clutch and I think intake? At that time I found a website for a guy in Minnesota that must have bought up all the OEM parts he could get his hands on and he had a lot of stuff. Even a few units still in crate.

Sounds about right then. I considered a sprocket change from 37 to 39 since I have some RPM room still, but the effort and potential gain just doesn't seem worth it.

Long trips I'm more inclined to get a hitch carrier and drive out to a location. There's some nice places a couple hrs from home that would be perfect, and one involves a ferry (mentioned a while back, made me remember the area) that gets you to an old FSR and natural hot springs area, be a good little morning or afternoon trip. Other plan is to move on from the 4Runner and into a Tundra or Raptor, gets me more space for trips with the family, and then no need for a hitch carrier.

Nice to have friends! I just put new Ikons on my 'cruiser'. Good kit.

an 85 in VGC, as a turnkey runner is 5.5/6K. As I said there are some very hard to find bits there. The chin fairing. The front fairing with decals, the all black LaFranconi exhaust. Don't know about the motor but those are surprisingly easy to get parts for.. On it's face it seems reasonable.

That version of that bike won races. super robust motor that runs strong at high rpm.

    Sold mine last year.

Tire kicking for now. Checks all the boxes, just need to justify new vehicle and going to the big 3.
