Daily driver to overlander

Are you modifying the camper to add a wheel well, or lifting the rear more? It looks like you're going to have extremely limited travel in the rear with those new tires as it's presently set up.

 

I will cut the outside arch on the camper side(very easy) and lift the camper(need to fix design issue as well). Also possible contact to the camper sub frame, maybe relocation needed. It will be determined when I do flex test.

 

Installed everything, reinforced something, getting ready for 5.29

Next, checking the up travel without coilovers and bumpstops to understand the scope of work

Started to work on the rear. The rivets were tight but the air hammer did the job.

 

To fit @ARCHIVE stuff I need to lift the camper, fix the bent subframe of it and cut the part of the wheel well.

 

@El Taco Diablo @10YSON what's your opinion about:
1. cross member for the leaf hangers
2. rear antirock sway bars for our trucks

 

You definitely want that crossmember connecting the shackle hangers and the OEM spare tire crossmember, Stan.

This is what's on my truck and I'm really happy with it so far.

 

Regarding the sway bar, there are kits out there but I've never seen one out in the wild.

 

The most strongly welded part is lower shock mount to the axle

 

What towers and shocks did you end up going with? Cutting off the lower shock mounts sucks. I feel your pain.

Did you start with a plasma cutter?

I am about to do mine - I have the Archive kit to install.

 

yes, plasma with a big allowance to keep the axle tube out of the flow, but still have some cuts on the tube after grinding it off. Be careful, drop the oil or at least open the inlet plug.
