Back when I was living on the East Coast, I had to travel to the Shelton area a couple times a year for work. I initially flew into SeaTac for that, but I realized after a while that it was easier and faster to fly into Portland and drive the extra 90 minutes than it was to fly into SeaTac and deal with everything going on there.

I work at the airport and I can confirm it will most likely only get worse. The new construction will make time spent in the airport a little more decent but they’re attempting to cram twice the amount of flights in there in the coming years with no added gates. We see 30-45 minute waits consistently for aircraft to get a gate from the time they land. It’s too congested and need to find a different option rather than polishing this turd.

As for theft in the parking garage, it’s all too normal and many employees have had their vehicles and motorcycles stolen from the garage. Even the employee lots which are monitored by “guards” have had many break ins, vandalism and vehicle theft. SeaTac is just a horrible armpit.

Best airport experience I've had was flying Avelo out of Eugene. Long term parking was about 100 feet away from the building, zero wait at check in/baggage, zero wait at TSA, and the flight was letting people just board when they showed up. Avelo's basic but their lack of onboard service was a plus, no cart service so you can use all the bathrooms.

Haha truth, I admit I work there and as an aircraft mechanic sometimes we are at fault for the delays:thumbsup:

My wife flies out of Everett every chance she gets, hopefully they pick up a few more destinations.

EUG is a great regional airport, as is the Bend-Redmond airport. I fly out of one of these two at least 5 times a year and have never had any issues at either. They're a little podunk but what more do you need from a regional airport.

Unfortunately, this means I often have to connect through SeaTac to get anywhere else.

Can't really complain about GEG (Spokane Intl.) either, it's small but they added an extra terminal recently and more TSA lines than needed really so you can get through that in like 3mins flat now.

My only complaint is that if you go through the wrong security checkpoint, not all of the gates/terminals are connected.

I was running late for a flight and entered through the wrong security checkpoint, and had to exit and reenter the other security checkpoint. Still made it though, because thankfully, lines are rarely more than a few peeps.

Hey guys dumb question but how's healthcare up in Spokane these days? When my parents & an old family friend lived up in Washington they said people from Spokane would still go over to Seattle area to get some high quality imaging ( MRI's/CT scan etc). I'm about to start my career and a company I've got a good connection with has an office in Spokane. Juggling wages vs cost of living dilemma along with, knowing my habits/history/tendencies, needing to have MRI access within an hours drive is a big factor

And that I'll be renting alone not with roommates and need a place with a garage.

    Any info appreciated thanks yall

As far as needing imaging goes you'll have no problem getting that done here these days, All of that stuff is commonplace. Wait times can be kind of long since health staff no longer want to work in Idaho which means a whole bunch of people from Idaho also come over here for stuff now.

My buddy's wife is a nurse at sacred heart, busy place but they have what you need.

Sacred Heart in Spokane is a very good hospital. For some specialties you may still want to go to Seattle but overall its very good.

I can't speak for Sacred Heart, but I know MultiCare has been heavily targeting that region. I helped build 3 new clinics in the last year in Spokane and they had plans for more.

Front tires for the Datsun showed up today unexpectedly and got bored after dinner. Rear wheels and tires aren’t expected till Wednesday next week. Once they show up I’ll run down to the old workplace and balance them. Mikey came out as I was airing up the second one and asked when we got a tire machine. o_O

What a coincidence I just got a screaming deal on some 4Runner reels and tires from that very place.

I usually make a reservation and park at masterpark Lot B. I haven't had any issues. I only use the airport garage when picking up or dropping off someone... just for an hour or two.

Ive only ever had connecting flights out of Seattle but one thing ive done flying out of some other airports is parked at a nearby hotel (some will let you and charge less than airport parking) and caught their shuttle to/from the airport.

You don't want to park a car in an unprotected lot in SeaTac or Burien if you can avoid it.
