Killing off both the 2.5” and 3” side by side!

Planning out V-band orientation to benefit installation along with packaging for cutting costs on shipping for you guys!

Here for some input. The 2.5” is complete.

However I am struggling with accepting the exit. My perspective, I’m not a big fan. However it’s up as high as it can be without causing leaf spring interference issues.

Let’s hear some thoughts and opinions. I’m tempted to just dump it out near the shackle hanger instead of coming out the side.

How much dumb is it to dump it out under the rear bumper? For those that want to see an exhaust tip. Otherwise I'd just have it at the shackle hanger like you said. The other thought is having one more bend in the final pipe so it's parallel to the ground for about the width of the wheel? Otherwise it feels like it's just shooting out from deep under the truck [especially in that last picture]

Yeh, for me it definitely needs to be cut back a few inches.

Under the rear bumper was a consideration. But at that point I cannot guarantee fitment with aftermarket bumpers. It’s all a give and take situation right now.

My opinion is dumping near the shackle hanger is by far the friendliest option that caters to all. But I know some guys probably want it out the side.

My two cents: I always run my exhaust as an axle dump, so def wouldn't want it exiting all the way back at the side of the truck.

Same situation here. Too easy to smash it if you’re off roading your truck. I’m really thinking I’m just going to redo the tail section a little bit, raise things up and dump by the shackle hanger.

Just don’t want it to be a deal breaker. And I’m not sure I want to have 3 variants of a tail pipe, either.

If I don’t like the 2.5” like this, I know I’m not going to like the 3”.

If only I could say how much hard work I’ve turned around and cut back apart. Perks of being a fabricator with extreme OCD. YOLO, I guess?

Would there be a significant price difference for folks that would want to personalize the setup? I.e.keep the side sweep? It's not necessarily a deal breaker for me on the axle dump either. Just testing the waters.

There comes a point where return on investment becomes a problem. I made the whole thing modular with reason, however when it comes to tail pipe’s it’s somewhat of a “pick your battle” situation. I already intend on a dump before the axle, a dump after and the idea I’m working on now. Truthfully, I think the way I’m rolling with it now is going to be the most ideal setup for everybody from street to off-road. Just trying to find that balance without investing time ($) and money I’ll never see back.

I'm good with the side exit but, I would prefer it to be parallel to the ground more. Nice work though.

Believe it or not, the exit was within .1 degree of parallel. I saw the same thing you did and checked it 55 times and it was there. Another part of my dislike lol.

Alright, not final and may bring it even higher. But give it to me. Love it or hate it?

I feel this is going to be the best balance to fit all.

That's a pretty cool spot, imo. Will there be any concern regarding cabin drone? That's really my only concern.

I think by angling the tip outward it should mitigate/eliminate the potential for drone. But I honestly believe a lot of drone is created at the Y-pipe merge collector. My truck has zero drone cruising and that dumps right out the bed side behind the rear doors.
