You've answered your own question. He wants what he wants, its that simple. In case anyone forgot the absolute shitshow he went through with his previous truck, why should he settle for anything other than what he actually wants, when he's finally getting the chance to start over?

Dealers sell product. There are instances when a rare or limited version commands high prices. Porsche GT3 and such. Top trim Corvettes. Morizo GR Corollas maybe.

An SR5 Tacoma isn't in that category. It costs them money every day it sits on the lot. It costs BronzeTaco nothing to let them pay interest. Some dealers don't deal. I've got one 50 miles away like that. I don't buy from them, and go to dealers that do deal.

2025 SR5's in Xtracab, with 4WD and the SR5 upgrade package will be arriving. BronzeTaco is in the advantageous position. That '24 the dealer won't deal on isn't the only or last one.

If he found the truck that he WANTS and it's a fucking needle in a hack stack then $800 is what it takes.

 

I found 7 needles in the haystack with just a few inputs on Autotrader. In fact, the needle factory is making a bunch more of them this year, deliveries beginning in a couple of days.

Let's hope one of those work out for him. Some people's time is more valuable than others. It's not about instant gratification.

 

If someone wants an x-cab, they're not going to "settle" for a 4-door just to save some money. No one buys a truck they don't want just because it costs less.

 

This. I've rented a Frontier and a Tacoma DCSB in recent times and would not buy one, even if it was less. I don't want to lose the 6 foot bed.
